The above from the film, Nostalgia.

My brother once told me that when he sat down to watch a film, he didn’t want to do work.

    He was too tired.

He wanted to settle back and escape into fantasy. Mister q would like him, he has a similar sense of humour and almost certainly a similar taste in films. Not in music, though.

I took and take a different view. I think that if you have to work at a film, if it makes you think and look, and I mean really think and really look, then you get a much bigger reward.

Films like Rocky and sequels, Rambo and sequels, require no work, and they end up hurting your brain, warping your outlook on life (remembers some drunk guy in London smashing a snooker stick on a bus bonnet, shouting ‘make my day, punk!’ *shudders

Some of the film ‘fantasies’ are good, I like em. Some are pure art form – thinking of The Archers set of films made in Britain during and after the war (Black Narcissus, The Red Shoes, A Matter of Life and Death).

But I particularly like the films such as the one above. They’re not easy to watch, but very rewarding.

I watch loads of stuff sceppers…..while i will quite happily admit i love a good old fashioned leave your brain at home movie….i love a good old classic….or classics which i haven’t yet discovered…..i have recently been discovering some amazing old black and white films on Free-view on the Talking Pictures channel…..

Thing is……we all like what we like…..but the further back you go in movie history……the less rowdy it was i quite agree…..Rocky is still a franchise like many movies as the movie industry is there to make money.

Personally…apart from Batman…..i’m getting really fed up with all this super hero movie franchise…..i do get it….Superhero comics were and are still big in America…..

Comics are like books in my opinion……you cant beat the real thing…

I must agree sceppers….many are influenced by what they see…not only on T.V but in the movies…..it’s a debatable subject whether violent movies cause violence in the watcher……i have heard both Bruce Willis and Sylvester Stallone defend this but then they aren’t going to admit that watching their movies is bad for you….LMAO

As for boxing…….it’s a great set of disciplines to be come a boxer…that’s as far as i go…..Governments will justify and regulate any thing as long as they know they are getting their tax out of it…

To be honest sceppers…Stallone was practically a pro boxer…..while he might not meet your standards or views….he worked hard to get the Rocky films done….he slept rough and sold his dog to make money and he believed in him self……first thing he did when he got big was to find the guy who bought his dog and buy it back……

The Rocky movies are always popular ( well perhaps not Rocky 5) LOL because the viewer can see the meaning behind the intent…..or the intent behind the meaning…..(which ever way one chooses to look at it….or view it)…..

The Rocky films are fantastic, Rocky 2 was on last night actually and for the however many times I watched it again enjoyed it… people like sceptical probably want to see a  films involving EU delegates smearing brussels pate on unmentionable areas.
