    Line of Duty, that is.

I wonder how many in jc have been watching this? Nine million in the country, apparently, so presumable must be some people here.

I don’t know who H is but I reckon the real villain is a villainess, as so often, and it’s the lawyer who’s been having meets with Supt. Hastings.

Tonight will find out, and it promises to be a good episode. After starting to get repetitive, the series is definitely back on form.

Jed Mercutio, the creator and writer of Line of Duty, is one of the few writers to crack the problem of how to write a thrilling tv crime series. The Nordics paved the way with  programmes like The Killing and The Bridge, and the Americans have always been masters of it – True Detectives being a prime example (Series 3 has been running on one of the lat channels, not sure if it’s completed yet).

So, if it ain’t Gill the lawyer, who is it???

    HI Sceppy poohs….

My friend thinks its that Gill person but what does H stand for? Simply Her? I have not had any lightbulb moments yet as to who it might be but I did last week think it might be Hastings Wife…anyway we shall see tonight and for once I will have to watch it while it is actually being broadcast because there will be no getting away from media coverage tomorrow

    Enjoy x

It’s the 5th series, Somer. If you have iplayer, it’s well worth a catchup. Series 2 and 3 are great, but this series is bang on form.

    H won’t be revealed tonight, because there’s a 6th series coming up.

I just think Gill has been told by H to stitch Hastings up.

    I think…

loved the ending when the two cops sorted it all out in dramatic fashion

just like real life, wasn’t it?

Jed Mercurio, who writes the thing, doesn’t seem good at endings.

But he excels at coining it. This series goes on a bit too long. Reminds me of a series called Twin Peaks over 30 years ago, when everybody was trying to guess who killed Laura Palmer. That series went on and on to the point where everybody got totally fed up and didn’t care  who the hell killed Laura Palmer.

Still, I’ll be watching the 6th (and 7th?? etc etc) series coz he knows how to get you glued to the set. Better than Antiques Roadshow or Cook of the Day.

    Enjoy your series folks..x
