On my recent phone bill, there was a number I didn’t recognise. When I queried it, it turns out it was to Greece! I have never phoned anyone in Greece in my life. I don’t know anyone in Greece. I also never make international phone calls.

I’ve asked BT to block international calls from my phone and also premium rate numbers.

Question is: How on earth did this happen? I’m baffled. :?

You might have been sleep-walking, and then tried to call a young snake-hipped John Travolta. It’s a common mistake.

Tell me more tell me more.

This is a part of an EU conspiracy where a random number of BT subscribers are charged for non existent calls to Greece.

The proceeds of this EU inspired rip off are sent to Greece to aid the ailing economy.

Alternatively, and if you have a teenage girl in the household, she has recently fallen in love with a Greek waiter, who then fled to Greece to avoid her advances. She is calling him to invite him back to the UK and her embrace.

You can look forward to a grandson called Stavros who will develop a taste for feta cheese.

*sigh*. One thing you can guarantee on JC is that when you ask for techy help, you’ll get it.

No I wasn’t sleepwalking. No my daughter doesn’t know anyone in Greece either. Everyone was either at school or work so there was only me in the house. I guess I shall have to remain baffled then. BT are now banning international and premium rate calls from my phone so it shouldn’t happen again. Thanks for the *help*.

If BT can’t provide with you with a reasonable answer, unlike others, then you could try the Ofcom site.
