For those who think she shouldn’t be teaching at the school.

Many of the 529 boys and girls aged seven to 11 at Headfield Church of England Junior are from ethnic backgrounds where English is not the first language .

Note C of E school, so seems religion is not the issue, just dress code.

With respect Tiler, I don’t see this argument being about whether the majority of kids at the school are from ethnic backgrounds. I see it as more her changing the goal posts once she’s been appointed.

The interview for the post was conducted with a MAN, there was NO VEIL worn at the interview. Whichever way you want to see it, it does make a difference. If she was so insistent on wearing her veil, ”in the presence of men” (her words) then why did she not wear it at the initial interview, fact is, she didn’t.

^^^ If that makes me racist, then so be it

How many of you on this site are FAT and single…… :?:

Have you ever thought that maybe the reason you are still single is “because” you are FAT.
The simple fact of the matter is that fat people are really not attractive. You can say what you like about personality counting but when two people first meet there has to be some kind of sexual attraction and sexual attraction and fat just does not mix.

We keep hearing daily in the media that eating healthily and regular exercise will improve our chances of longevity but maybe if people were more aware of the fact that fatness does nothing to arouse the desires of the opposite sex then maybe more people will take notice.

I’m single Fast, i’m not fat, far from it. I always have been and I spose always will be, slim, 10/12 now, used to be 8/10, so i’ve moved on a little………so whats the excuse there then.

What a narrow minded view of women you seem to have

in that case, what you doing tonight?

    OOOoooooooooooo i’m free tonight Matty.

Meet you under the clock at Kings X @ 7/30 hun

With great respect Cas – Prince Charles did the ‘Defender of Faith” bit some years ago, and caused the inevitable squeals of outrage from the usual suspects.

The muslim teacher DID get interviewed without her full face covering and DID adopt it some considerable time after she took up her teaching appointment.

Is this simply her being disingenuous or did she get pressured into it by (male) family members, or maybe she found her God later on???

<span style="color: red]If it is acceptable to wear a full face covering to teach children, then why don't all teachers wear Balaclava helmets???[/color”>

Crash helmets maybe with the behaviour of a lot of children in clases now and teachers having missiles launched at em.

Sorry PB ….. I didn’t know that, I only heard about it on the programme the other night and I just wondered how pple felt about it.

Iv’e found it interesting that no one has yet mentioned (apologies if i’m wrong) but this woman was interviewed for the teaching assistant job by a man, and she wasn’t wearing a veil in the interview, but suddenly her argument is that she wishes to wear it in the presence of a man

Emma……………I agree with Esme, regarding the being able to put your head above the parapit etc., All I ask, is the same common respect as people of other faiths, whatever they may be, I really can’t see where you can find anything racist in what Esme said, but maybe you could enlighten me.

On Thursday night I watched ”Question Time” (yea i know, borin aint i  ) where one of the topics discussed was the speech by Prince Charles, and his possible intention of,,,,,,at his coronation, changing constitution and hailing himself ”Defender of Faith” as opposed to THE faith. People are saying because he would be head of the C of E church, like his mother, he’d be wrong. The jurys still out on it far as i’m concerned, but I can see his point. Do you think this would be a racist move Emma, and if you do, why?

I don’t know anyone who collects this kind of stuff either, but I agree with what Sharon says, that they must be a touch weird

I assume that this memorabilia is something to do with the weapons or items used in the killing of the victim, seems very odd to me that people do and would want to collect this kind of thing, a little macabre I spose you could say.

Bravery flys out the window Rubes, and the desire to survive kicks in, as i’m sure Rossy would lay testament to. Life is never the same, you never take anything for granted again. I never worry about anything anymore, bills n such i mean, mundane everyday stuff takes a veryyyyyyyyyyy back seat

Like I said before, my son was 14 at the time, a complete superstar, he’s 18 now. Watching the worry of the last 4 weeks drain out of his face today was like winning the lottery :D

But ………….. thankyou, your words brought a lump to my throat O:)
