Think you will find that it was Pats who said that she .would be in a darkened room, if she had lost her daughter and wouldnt be out in public
Yes Token ,,,,,,,,,,,, and Pats meant (like you didnt know  ) in grief,,,unable to function, live her life,,,,,,,,,unlike Mrs McCann of course

Well said Cas
:)
Thankyou Uber, and i’m glad you see my point.
Iv’e no idea where Token gets his idea that by having the opinions that we do, me, Pats, Bat others, that we feel that the two younger ones should be denied their own childhood. They shouldn’t, but as I said, the only people denying them that, are their parents.

Maybe you Token, and the others on here who have seen fit to lamblast those of us who have a different opinion to yours, should simply accept that people do have different opinions on this. It doesn’t make us wrong, anymore than it makes you wrong for holding the opinion that you do……..wer’e entitled to disagree with you,,,,,we have free speech, it’s a free country, least it was last time I checked
If you disagree with what i said then you mean its ok for the kids who are ok to not have their parents there with them?
the kids should suffer too? they are kids! its not fair on them! let them have their childhood
obviously only my opinion and you have already said you dont agree with what i said which is fine
i personally think that its unfair to punish the kids that are ok, you dont
free country like you said
What I disagree with actually Token, is the way that you and some others here have lamblasted people for critisising the parents of the child. Gerry McCann can stand there all he likes and say how terribly upset they are at the bad press they’re now receiving in Portugal, play the bleeding heart! Had they NOT left not one, but 3 children! under the age of four alone, they wouldn’t be in the situation they are would they. Why DIDN’T they use the babysitting service, why DIDN’T they use the creche, if they wanted to have dinner undisturbed by the children, they could afford it after all. As I said before,,,my sympathies are with that child, if she’s still alive, she’s the real victim in all of this.
I totally agree that their two other children should be allowed a childhood,,,,who’s denying them that, would it be their parents perhaps. They don’t seem to have a problem dumping them off on relatives or anyone else while they travel around the country, pop off to have an audience with the pope etc etc.,
The only people denying those other two children their childhood therefore, are their parents!!!

10 August, 2007 at 9:44 pm #282124B55 I see all kinds of things at supermarkets, all kinds of other places too that makes my blood run cold….but
are you saying then that what they did is something you’d do yrself?
that you don’t see any wrong in that?
10 August, 2007 at 7:01 pm #282122I agree with what Bat has said, I said pretty much the same thing….
People may see it as vilyfying them in their greif, but it’s a free country and wer’e all entitled to our opinions, they might not be the same as other peoples, doesn’t make them wrong, just different.
Fact is i’m afraid, Bat is absolutely right. Had this happened in this country, these people would have been crucified by Social Services, Child Protection Agency’s etc etc, and those of you who say that Bat and I are wrong for speaking the truth, know that that, at least IS!! the truth

It’s all very well to blame parents for leaving child alone – but how many parents leave their children for a minute or two – long enough for them to walk outside under a car?
What if the parents had been at home and let a child play outside unsupervised and they were kidnapped? Would that have aroused so much condemnation? It boils down to the same thing.Parents know that small children (and not so small) can come to harm in a very short space of time if left unsupervised. I’m talking mainly about accidents but the same applies to kidnapping etc. At the local primary school there were 2 cases of a stranger trying to snatch a child from outside the school in broad daylight a few years ago. I think it was even the same description of suspect both times.
If there is any negligence involved in this case, it is overshadowed by the kidnapping and whatever else might have happened – that is the real tragedy and crime.
You can justify the McCanns all you like B55, and your just as entitled to your opinion as anyone else is. We all know tho, that had that happened in this country, those parents would be facing charges of neglect,,,,,,,,,,,,,is that why theyre staying in portugal perhaps,,,,,,,or at least one of the reasons!
Presumably everyone who could have been involved in any crime in this case needs to be eliminated by the enquiry but spouting hatred towards the parents at this stage is just cruel and nasty.

Have they ever been popular with anyone except the hangers-on who think they might get their picture in the paper? Can’t say I disagree but we’ll undoubtedly get the ‘We’re good parents. Remember, we have three children and we’re only missing one’ speech.
Or words to that effect anyway.
Personally John, I don’t think iv’e seen tears from either one of them,,,,not that tears ever help such a situation, but a normal reaction all the same.
I’m sorry if it’s not a popular conception, but NO they shouldn’t have left their children alone. They were on holiday fgs, what’s so wrong in having them with you, if they’re tired put them in their buggys, kids will sleep anywhere!!
The one who’s paying, or has paid, the ultimate price, is that child, bless her!!
