Parachutes – the suicide album! It’s never really happened for Coldplay, not in the way that was expected anyway. Just one of those things I suppose, look at Franz Ferdinand – their second album was a bit of a let down.
That’s actually the only Radiohead song I know, hence why I’m still alive. A mate of mine said the same about Coldplay ‘Some of it is good, some of it makes you want to get a bread knife and slit your wrists’
I tend to keep my distance from him now…

So far I’ve heard ‘each to their own’ and ‘you don’t appreciate good music’ Oh, and I’ve also been told that I called her music crap when actually I said it was quite good but nothing special.
I agree, sharon (and for the record, I love heavy metal and guess what? I’m not gonna throw a hissy fit if you suggest Chester Bennington of Linkin Park is a s**t vocalist or if you don’t like My Chemical Romance) we all have our own tastes but if folk discuss things that they like on this forum then surely folk can also discuss things they don’t.
And anyway, the initial point wasn’t ‘I don’t like Amy, she’s garbage’ It was that personally I don’t think she’s all that she’s made out to be.

Anyhoo, back to the subject matter. Why are you defending something that isn’t even being attacked? I never said ‘Her music’s s**t, why do folk bother?’ I was merely wondering what all the fuss was about cos anytime I’ve heard her, I haven’t heard anything special (an opinion – shocking innit?) Not quite the same thing.
Just cos you appreciate it doesn’t mean everyone does.
Fasty, you probably know more about the charts than I do so you tell me. My interests lie beyond the latest trends.
Strange that you assume that since I’m not an Amy Winehouse follower that I’m a boy band fan though. There’s a whole world of different music out there – keep listening, you might actually hear something different. That goes for pats as well.
Pats, don’t tell me you’re on of these ‘young folk today etc etc’ Showing your age and ignorance there. I do appreciate good music, I just don’t appreciate her music and don’t see what all the fuss is about.
If that makes me a nim then fair enough (though I’d love to see the logistics behind that other than the fact that I’m not getting swept away by the hype and the fact that I actually don’t agree with your point of view)
