    My point was that we should be able to tell people to leave if they don’t like it, to stand up for the British way of life, but the fact that we don’t is probably because we are stuck in the mind set of having to apologise for the past.

    Enough is enough…our government should stop living in the past.

    But the whole point is that because of the embarrassment we feel now for the past and what European countries perpetrated all those many years ago, and lets face it, it wasn’t always so far afield, we may have gone too far the other way in being apologists.

    It is accepted that some of the things that were done should never have happened, but in some ways the days of Empire are still being paid for. When do we move on, and stop having to apologise for this country’s past behaviour?
