Ugo, honey if you had fun, enjoyed yourself in her company, and over the last 9 to 10 months were really happy…..then no way was it a waste of time.

Shit happens, and it happens to all of us, but to have that length of time with someone who made you happy is a good thing, not a bad one.

Sometimes relationships don’t work out, but it doesn’t mean they should never have happened in the first place. What do they say? “It is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all”.

Take a deep breath and put your memories in a place that is safe, but where they won’t bother you. You may want to take them out at some point in the future and remember a few of those good times.

    Picasso in relief

    Sterile corridors, cool and ethereal

    Open into stark rooms.

Walls play host to small strange images

    As the worshippers gather

    To whisper quiet eulogies.

With reverential eyes they peer closely

    Then afar

    Searching for some cryptic clue

To the workings of an artists mind.

Objects merge and flow or strike sharply

    With simple lines.

Faces torn apart as broken mirror shards

    Reflecting naked thoughts,

And themes are explored over and over

With subtle differences. To what end?

Eternally the worshippers muse and ponder, then

    A Bather swims into view

And unexpectedly and from deep within a gurgle emerges

    To explode

And ricochet from wall to hallowed wall.

For there in tones of grey and green

    floats Bart with outstretched arms

    and bare behind

above a random pair of breasts,

and in my mind I hear him cry

    “eat my shorts”!

Laughter burbles out to scowls and frowns

From learned sorts who struggle to find

    Reason for the juxtaposition

    of such kindergarten vulgarity

In the work of their more than worthy god.

    The hysteria deepens

Requires imperative retreat from startled rooms

    Out into steamy Spanish heat.

For it’s as plain as the nose in your hair

That none of them can see the wonderful and

    Delicious irony of it all.

    An absence of silence

Voices in the spaces between here and there,

That is simply beautiful, my heart caught in my throat.

Happy birthday to Paul! It looks like Heather won’t be needing him :( But if he happens my way I’ll get him a bottle of wine and make him a veggie burger
