Whether or not what is said is true, the more mature thing when someone gets personal is to ignore it. But this and the other poll go back to the beginning of the year, you were complaining then, you are complaining now, why not just for once, lead the way and totally ignore personal insults!
It’s rather difficult to ignore someone who attacks you after every post you make.
The posts I refer to have been deleted now, so it’s all pie in the sky.I don’t have a problem with being attacked or abused. I have a problem with the attacks and abuse ruining threads that don’t deserve to be ruined. Sadly this is why many of the best posters have left JC.

The peoples freely elected Government appoints judges.21 October, 2006 at 2:21 am #245374I was shocked, then intrigued when I read this thread. Here’s the WWF response.
Chemical companies refuse to withdraw products already on the market unless there is proof that they are causing damage. WWF argues that the only way of checking this is to carry out tests.
WWF said: “Despite utterly inadequate safety assessments, tens of thousands of chemicals are being released into the environment. This results in the exposure of humans and wildlife to unknown risks.Of the 2,600 chemicals used in the highest volumes in the EU, 21% have no safety data.”
Story here.
20 October, 2006 at 2:28 am #185763I have enjoyed posting on JC for a long time now. The problem was, that the inevetable disagreements and personality clashes started to spill into every area of the message board, to the extent that perfectly good threads were ruined with abuse.
I have asked for a Flame Forum on more than one occasion. Not because I wish to post in it, because I want the flaming kept out of the areas I enjoy posting in.
The moderators are as guilty as the flamers for letting this site go to the dogs.

This is old, but yet still relevant. But I shall refrain from making further comments. But I have my own opinions based on what I read here. 8)
You’re not quite getting the full picture as Geoff’s account was deleted, so his posts are missing; apart from the ones that were quoted.

Oh !!!! I didn’t know that. Well that’s allright then we needn’t worry anymore.
It’s all here.
Ah – so your link goes to ”Autistic” Gordon’s budget speech eh? How silly of me I really should have know that everything he says is pure gospel and none of it at all is in any way spun for party political advantage.
He’s a great bedtime read eh? Full of little quips to keep you interested in his lists of mweaningless statistics and broad generalisations. Do remind me, how many times this year alone have the precious NL dictators announced and or spent the same money under several different disguises???
There are enough facts and figures there to confirm that this country’s never had it so good.
Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer,
We’ll keep the red flag flying here.18 October, 2006 at 11:22 am #245111The last two paragraphs read:
“By engaging them [difficult inmates] in purposeful and rewarded activity, the Prison Service can continue the process of reintegrating them back into normal conditions. We can also manage the risk of further disruptive behaviour toward staff and other prisoners.”
“Prisoners in close supervision are therefore encouraged to take part in constructive activity and, through a cashless system [worth £1.10 a session], they can buy approved items within the prison.”
“Prisoners in close supervision who are not engaged in purposeful activity take longer to reintegrate, are potentially more dangerous and are therefore more expensive to manage.”
