My parents live across the road from a Muslim family, the husband is friendly and speaks to my parents, my father asked him about his ever veiled wife to whom neither he nor my mother had ever spoken, he maintained that it was his right to insist that his wife be covered at all times so that no other man should be tempted if he should lay eyes on her…. he said it was his abosulte right to be the only man ever to lay eyes on his wife or to speak to her directly… apparently this poor woman never leaves the house unaccompanied and has never been heard to speak…… my heart bleeds for her… that is no life !!!!
I have nothing against any religion faith or culture……. I have everything against oppression of an idividual to live life !!!!
We all interpret things in different ways… if some women chose to wear them, then so be it…… but they must also respect our laws and wishes that under certain circustances having your face covered is not acceptable. I will never agree that it is a mans right to insist or demand this from his wife…. and i don’t care if she agrees to it, she must have been brainwashed into believing she had no other option in life.
Needless to say… my father at 83 replied by telling his neighbour that his wife was safe from an form of sexual advance as hes well passed it and has a dicky ticker….he turned on his heels and has never spoken to said neighbour since.
