In the TV coverage of this looming tragedy that is building in Pakistan, the world’s most powerful muslim country, one thing I noticed is how most women appear to be either in Western clothes or Indian type saris. Lots are not wearing headscarves and those who do go for the sort worn by our grandmothers to protect their hair-dos rather than islamic hijab. Also most men are not dressed in radical white with long beards.
enjoy seeing them while you can because when the taliban take power soon [and they will] women will be the first targets, we can be sure there will be public floggings, hangings, stonings, and dont forget the wonderful taliban habit of marrying little children to stop them ever having a chance to fight back. mohammed coming to a village near you…
12 November, 2007 at 9:30 pm #292617you make valid points there slayerbut the facts remain that there is a severe feeling of unrest and hopelessness among many thousands of english people who feel their towns [or villages are being over run with these people.] im sorry i dont buy your argument that their children all speak english thats utter crap. we have a nation of fekless stay at home youths here who are perfectly capable of working who would rather sit on their arses and watch trisha or kyle and co rather than work, they should be offered the work these immigrants are doing and if they refuse then their benefit should be stopped full stop. then we would not need ivan and his wife and 4 kids to come here to pick spuds at a fiver a hour whilst claiming 300 quid a week in housing benefit working tax credits and home grants to sey themselves up. let alone little nikitas teeth need doing and mrs ivan needs an operation to fix her bad back or grandad ivan who has tb but hey thats ok its good for the economy…. what a load of bollix. and yes i do keep saying its not a colour thing because if i dont the first thing you and others do is scream racist at the top of your voice so i include the saying to get the point over that we qare being invaded and our nations identity is beginning to talk with a distinct accent. somewhere between punjabi and russianesque gang talk. isnt anyone here slightly worried whatwill happen in 15years when theirs start breeding with ours and the nation becomes segregated into white and black, all hating one another..

Cambridge (MA) and University Park (PA) – Al Gore can rest easy now. Researchers at Harvard University and Penn State University have developed a plan to solve the problem of global warming in a matter of decades, not millennia, well in line with industrial time scales. It involves changing the way Mother Nature naturally reclaims carbon today, through the use of volcanic silicate rocks and weak carbonic acids. Scientists want to strengthen the acid to speed up the natural process.
The team has learned that the oceanic acid levels are a key component in how much carbon they can hold. An alkaline ocean can hold dissolved carbon, while an acidic one will release it into the atmosphere. Our current oceans are undergoing a movement toward increased acidity, which is believed to be responsible for the damage caused to coral reefs. It may also be a naturally occurring explanation for the observed increases in global warming.
Their new process is called “engineered weathering”. It involves taking the natural processes of volcanic silicate dissolving carbon dioxide from the atmosphere in the presence of fresh water. This chemical reaction forms a weak carbonic acid. That water then winds its way through the soil and rocks, converting the carbonic acid into alkaline carbonate and salts along the way. Eventually it finds its way to the ocean where it increases their alkalinity, allowing them to hold the dissolved carbon. The more this natural process occurs, the more carbon the oceans can hold.
Scientists want to modify this natural process to reverse the trend seen today by turning the oceans alkaline again. This will allow them to rapidly absorb not only man-made carbon dioxide, but also naturally occurring carbon dioxide as well.
Their plan involves replacing the weak carbonic acid with the much stronger hydrochloric acid. This will greatly accelerate the changeover to alkalinity, allowing it to keep the pace with “industrial rates”. The researchers believe the process can be adapted to remote areas whereby geothermal or natural gas is used as the powering fuel.
According to one researcher, Christopher House, “This work shows how we can remove carbon dioxide on relevant timescales, but more work is be needed to bring down the cost and minimize other environmental effects”. He warns that while the team believes their plan is attainable, the actual implementation is quite ambitious. It would be very costly and, of course, carry with it some environmental risks of its own. He says these risks need further study as the process would literally involve building dozens of facilities right alongside volcanic rock coasts. These would be something along the lines of large industrial plants manufacturing, among other things, chlorine gas. In the words of Willy Wonka, “A few more tests.”
Research was carried out by Kurt House, Daniel P. Schrag, Michael J. Aziz, all from Harvard University, as well as Christopher H. House (Kurt House’s brother) at Penn State. Funding has been provided by The Link Energy Foundation, Merck Fund of the New York Community Trust, the United States Department of Energy and NASA.
UPDATE: John Coleman, founder of The Weather Channel, currently employed as a meterologist for KUSI News in San Diego, posted something which relates strongly to this story in his blog yesterday. It reads, “[Global warming] is the greatest scam in history. I am amazed, appalled and highly offended by it. Global Warming; It is a SCAM …. In time, a decade or two, the outrageous scam will be obvious. As the temperature rises, polar ice cap melting, coastal flooding and super storm pattern all fail to occur as predicted everyone will come to realize we have been duped. The sky is not falling.

I can’t understand why she is moaning, motorbikes are dangerous, and they have been for years.
People who have ½ a brain know that.
Anyone with 2 working brain cells can tell you that travailing at 30 miles per hour with only a plastic helmet and wind proof jacket on to protected you is a bad idea.
If they made a type of car with the same accident rate has a moped, it would have been ban years ago.
Death rates for motorbike users in the UK are the higher than our soldier’s death rates in Iraq.
Face it, if you chose to use a motorbike, you chose to take the risk.
youre as thick as your mate here. what part of IT WAS THE CAR DRIVERS FAULT BOTH TIMES DONT YOU MUPPETS UNDERSTAND. it was not in any way the fault of the bike rider…
1 the first crash. he was stationary at a junction. the car BEHIND him ran into the bike ??? if he had been in a car would you say it was his fault ?? your unbelievable.
2 he was travelling at 40 in a 60 limit. the car that hit him pulled out of a side road without looking in either direction. [the car driver even had the audacity to say that as he used this junction at the same time every morning he had the right to pull out as the biker wasnt normally there… [he actually stated that to the police officer who attended.] would he have said that if he had run into a car ??? your ignorance is yet again astounding.
3 my husband spent over 500 pounds on the correct safety gear and a top range helmet, costing 275 quid, for his safety as you may have noticed there are a lot of stupid car drivers around who dont think any of the laws apply to them.12 November, 2007 at 8:27 pm #292834@forumhostpb wrote:
Why do you start from the position that it is ALWAYS the motorist that is to blame – and NEVER the motocyclist????
And why is it that 4×4 drivers ALWAYS have to be labelled in such a negative fashion???
If every motorcyclist was to HAVE to learn to drive a motor car first then they might have a better appreciation of the dangers inherent in riding a motorcycle.
you are obviously a complete fukkwit. just in case you didnt note, on both occasios the car drivers were at fault. both car drivers accept they were in the wrong and both car drivers insurances are duly paying up. so even to a halfwit it is quite obvious that CAR DRIVERS in this case are incompetent to drive, both drivers are being prosecuted for driving without due care and attention and both car drivers should have checked all directions in future when driving their 4×4 bully machines. just in case you cannot grasp it once again, both car drivers were completeley in the wrong NOT the bike rider [who incidentally has been riding bikes for longer than i care to remember, many yeaers anyway.] do you ride bike ? no i guess not as you are obviously having problems with understanding written english let alone learn the basics of road laws.it would be a far safer world if all car drivers had to do a year on a bike before being let loose in a car a is frequently shown by the number of car drivers killing bikers because they dont have the inteligence to look in two direrctions without being instructed by their wives. your stupidity in the remarks made only goes to prove that you are indeed a car driver stupid self centred and thick. people with opinions such as yours shouldnt be allowed ina car let alone on the road.
8 November, 2007 at 2:36 pm #292829sarcasm suits you dear it shows how much you care.. but i get yer point. he says hes gunna fit the bike with a rocket launcher when he gets it back.the thing that irks me is the arrogance of these morons. there should be a mandatory fine of 500 quid for any driver who pulls out of a junction and hits a motorbike as it is as simple as glancing a second time before going. its not rocket sciense but evedently its too much for car drivers mentality to actually read the road.
if every driver were made to do a year on a bike before getting a car these sort of cock ups wouldnt happen.. im so angry.still.. i wouldnt want to be the one to upset me in the next few days i think i could be capable of punching someones lights out at the moment and im not even pmt,ing  :lol:7 November, 2007 at 7:44 pm #291790its a sad fact that youths of all backgrounds may well be carrying weapons nowadays. several years ago a study was done in the london district of brixton where equal amounts of black and white youths were stopped and searched and over 80 percent of the people carrying weapons were black. that said the main victims of stabbings in the same area were black on black. the disproportionate numbers of black males in prisons is also a measure of the same crimes, what bothers me in all this is why do black males always seem to be the ones who are seen on tv for violent crimes such as rape , robbery , shootings and of course stabbings. it has been rising year on year and the more notoriety these men get the more of them seem to take up the baton [or knife] and carry on the race to see who dies first. personally i think they should round anyone up who gets caught carrying weapons and give em 6 weeks training in self defence and then drop the bast*rds in iraq and let em see who the daddy is then…..
and that includes white and brown and yellow and red and any other combination of shade.6 November, 2007 at 3:30 pm #292700:lol:      LMFAO.arent the daft ones the best..nice one made my t break that did. ta pet
