Bizarre finds in sewer network
A live snake, a badger and a cow were among the bizarre things found in Scotland’s sewer network in the last year, water chiefs have revealed.
Scottish Water workers were also surprised to find a platoon of toy soldiers, a frog and a goldfish clogging the pipes.
The company has to spend £6 million a year clearing blockages in the system and urged people to think carefully about what they flush away.
You Mad Scottish People..
I like the bit where they’re urging people to be careful as to what they flush away!
I could understand maybe The Proclaimers cd’s being shoved down the loo, or maybe Billy Connellys’ head, but it isn’t rocket science as to what you should and shouldn’t flush down the loo. The Soldiers, frog and goldfish part made me think, that some kid must have been playing one hell of a game..
AND,.. What’s the business with The Cow?
Obviously it found it’s way there via other means.. (I HOPE), but was it put there, or did it take a wrong turning?.. IF ONLY cows could talk huh?.. (Mother in laws’ not included)!!22 March, 2010 at 11:20 am #436308I happily flushed our 2 goldfish down the loo when they snuffed it, infact I couldn’t wait for the godamn things to go to fishy heaven! But being a good parent I pretended to be really upset 8)
