Thanks for your input. I bought a rather expensive one yesterday but I’ve yet to try it.

Peeved – I’m afraid your suggestion looked like too much hard work for my delicate arms. But thanks anyway.

Drivel – Imagine how the crab felt.

Dee – I think left handed ones are available from a shop in Springfield called the Leftorium run by a Mr Flanders. Not sure if they have a web site.
    EDIT: http://www.anythingleft-handed.co.uk/cgi-bin/ss000005.pl?SS=tin+opener&PR=-1&TB=A&SHOP=&ACTION.x=21&ACTION.y=7

Gyps – What’s on the menu?

Im sure I can rustle something up which most certainly will not require a tin opener…. 8)

You do know I’m a vegetarian?

Why not buy packet food, or boxed then you dont have to worry what if any tin opener you have?

You seem to be under the illusion that all I eat is tinned foods. Suggesting that I should buy packet or fresh food is a little patronising.
It may put your minds at rest to know that I enjoy a mixed diet of many different kinds of food, and it comes in many forms – tinned, packet, fresh, dried, frozen, room temperature, liquid, solid, semi-solid and squishy.
Sweetness I was only joking when I said I would die of starvation if I couldn’t find a working tin opener.
But thanks for your input you lovely inputters.
