manipulating a statistic so that it says what you want is easy, for example you’re more likely to be killed by either a wild pig or a coconut than by a shark, that doesn’t mean that sharks are by any means safe.
The important thing to remember throughout is context, the basic mistake here is that you assumed that everyone in Britain voted which I sadly point out is simply not likely
