You REALLY want to get a grip and quickly! WTF ARE YOU ON? Don’t you FOOKIN’ DARE try to suggest that ‘he deserved it’. And don’t you fookin dare try to act all innocent and say “show me where I said that” because that is EXACTLY what you were saying. You should be ashamed of yourself woman!
This was aimed at Emmas post btw – Tommy, you are way off the mark too.
Why did they run?
Emma, I have given up hope on you. With the possible exception of Sinn Fein members, I have never met anyone quite as dogmatic as you. Go read the McPherson report and at least try to open your mind a little. Please.

30 July, 2006 at 6:28 pm #232912It’s a lovely pic Cym, spoiled only by the baby’s presence and the side profile. It’s America ffs – full of bible-bashing nutters, whaddya expect?
30 July, 2006 at 6:19 pm #231290I like evening games: the thrill of playing under the floodlights, the fact you can get pished the night before and sleep til lunchtime, the bars are open straight after the match and no training next day so you can erm sleep til lunchtime – that’s what footie is all about really, isn’t it?
30 July, 2006 at 5:50 pm #231288Have we got a match tonight cos I feel like getting pished?
30 July, 2006 at 5:48 pm #230821yeah yeah Herman. On reflection tho, I have been a bit harsh with Gerrard, I know he is Liverpool through and through and I shouldn’t knock him too much. He IS a great player and God knows what was going through his head last year. I am glad he seems to have got it all sorted and I hope we have yet to see the best of him. Maybe one day he WILL be the best player in the World.
30 July, 2006 at 3:22 pm #232445There can’t be enough coverage given to the Steven Lawrence case as far as I am concerned. What went on there MUST be examined by all of us. Why are gangs able to murder innocent people in broad daylight? Why can British people not be accepted in certain parts of the country if their skin is a different colour or if they have different religious beliefs? Why are some policemen able to be bribed? Why can we not bring criminals to justice? If we want people to have any quality of life we NEED victims of crime (and think of all the rape victims that don’t make formal complaints) to be confident that we as a society will never let any stone be left unturned until the criminals are brought to justice, even when the ‘system’ lets them down. If you consider yourself British then surely you are in favour of a level playing field for all? The Steven Lawrence case deals with many different issues where the playing field is not level, THAT’S why it deserves so much coverage. Thank feck the media are not letting it drop because if we ever accept the failures of our system and institutions then we cease to progress as humans.
30 July, 2006 at 12:53 pm #232897Well Happy Birthday Wilma!!!!! You kept that quiet (erm is that because it’s a milestone by any chance?). Hope you have a GREAT day Wilma xx
30 July, 2006 at 12:19 pm #230819Yup! Proper footy started yesterday wooohooo. I see Liverpool managed to avoid Hearts in last week’s draw so they will have a chance of reaching the group stages. Maybe we’ll meet there!! I will try to avoid getting involved in English football debates in future as I obviously know feck all about it (having only lived in this country for a mere 30 years).
30 July, 2006 at 11:41 am #230817The sums being banded about as offers from other clubs are commonplace when agents are trying to renegotiate new contracts for players: “You must pay my player this much money cos he can get that at another club”. He wasn’t offered a contract with Real Madrid so it’s pure speculation what he would have got there had he joined them but it was probably enough for the player and his agent to get Liverpool to vastly increase their original offer. I imagine he got image rights at Liverpool too, something he wouldn’t get at Real.
He is like any player, he will be ‘Loyal’ as long as the money is right. Can’t say I blame him btw and clubs have no right to expect blind loyalty either – maybe that’s what pi ssed Gerrard off in the first place, the fact he felt he was being taken for granted as a ‘fan’ of the club.
