Private companies can also sell chemicals like “potassium fluoride and sodium fluoride” for “metal finishing of aluminium profiles used in making aluminium showers and aluminium window frames”.
the tory regime sold chemicals to Syrian regime known to be used to make chemical weapons?
That’s almost irrelevant. Because we sell them chemicals, it doesn’t mean they should make weapons from it and kill their own people, or that we advocate, approve, endorse or encourage them to do so. In this day and age, Leaders using chemical weapons on their own people is NOT a very common practice, and NOT something you’d expect of someone when selling then chemicals. What if Iceland sold them the chemicals, what difference would that have made? Weapons could be made of anything. Should we not sell them steel or titanium? How do you know the Syrians didn’t “promise” to not make weapons with it? Maybe they lured us into selling them crop fertilisers. Too many unkowns. What if they made a dirty bomb in a suitcase that was made in London, and nuked London. That would be our fault too for making good suitcases?
Too many unkowns.
Besides, weapons are useful, good business, and we are good merchants and tradesmen, we are good weapons manufactures and suppliers, known for it the world over. Our weapons we make have preserved more lives than they have taken.

I could under certain circumstances quite legally commit very violent and brutal acts, with weapons, causing much damage, as long as I could prove it was done in self defence, thus preservation.
Not only could I do it in my defence but in your defence too. If I were to defend you in a very nasty violent attack, thus preserving your life and using a weapon to do so, it would probably be considered heroic and my actions may well be rewarded.
Think of all those brave Police men and women who have lost their lives whilst preserving the lifes of others.
Preservation of life is a success.
Weapons are one of the best ways to preserve life.
The bigger, badder, better the weapon, the better the preservation properties it will have.
Self defence is a variation of self preservation. Self defence is a basic principle of humanity and is enshrined in pretty much every law book in the world.
