i havent realy been following the maddie story, but i noticed a paper headline yesterday that said the blood in the hire car was maddies ? i dont know if its true, but im afraid as far as im concerned the parents are directly responsible for the tots death [or kidnapping] they became responsible the moment they closed the front door and abandoned 3 babies to go for a boozing session with their mates. ive said it before, and i stick by that. if it were myself or ruby or sharon. [or any user of this board] we would be in jail now. the only reason the mcanns are not being prosecuted is that they whipped up this brilliant smokescreen of desperation and sufering [their own] to cover the fact they literally left their babies alone, rather than pay the hotel sitting service the fifteen or twenty quid it would have cost for someone to look after their children.
the idea of leaving babies alone is ludicrous but these two DOCTORS decided so arrogantly to leave their offspring so they wouldnt have to stay in with them. its shameful and wrong. why arent they in prison like the rest of us would be ? i just dont get it ? even if maddie is still alive they dont deserve to get her back. :twisted:9 January, 2008 at 9:12 am #302514@smiley wrote:
I have the same problem as you, Sharon. I went vegetarian for 2 years after seeing a cow being slaughtered.
I make sure I only buy local meat from animals that have lived a free and happy life up to the slaughter now though… but.. I still feel guilty.
totally agree there smiley im lucky to live out in the sticks where animals are reared for meat but they have a decent life before they are despatched. my local butcher is a dead ringer for fred elliot on corrie street. he even talks like him, so we have a good laugh whilst buyin the sunday roast. also in our village we ave free range sheep…
theyre not suposed to be free range as such but they have rights to roam and we often ave or gardens eaten wholesale by sheep. we arent allowed to kill them [just as well nowadays] but my best mate hijacked two of them and got the local paper involved, eventually the farmer agreed to pay compo for her garden but it was over a year before he paid up. even tho we see them running around we all still enjoy lamb. i would never buy cheap meat from a supermarket the conditions are awfulfor the animals. keep it local i say. :lol:8 January, 2008 at 10:21 am #296257the british billie holliday. poor lass stands no chance while she allows herself to be exploited and marketed as a coke snorting miserable mess.[even tho we know she is just that] fantastic voice and soleful songs. i hope she survives another year. back to black album fantastic. im playing it today whilst getting ready for a job interview. good on yer aimee……..
8 January, 2008 at 10:05 am #300998there are two kinds of people in this situation.
those who work to live.
and those who live to work.
having the balance right is up to the individual. i chose to work to live. and enjoy the benefits. while i was nursing however i definateley lived to work. its not just a money thingis it ? its a mental attitude toward your life.
mortgages, and loans, holidays and luxuries are the traps we climb into only too easily, if you think about buying a car that will mean you working full time for 5 years to pay the loan off then you and you alone are responsible for that decision. so we shouldnt moan when we are in a situation where you cant afford to be sick or have a saving account you can fall back on. there is no justification for accrueing thousands of pounds in loans and goods etc, then moaning that you cant go on holiday for 5 years, just dont buy what you cant afford simple as..
mind you its taken me almost half a century and a failed business to come to this conclusion. been there done that comes to mind.7 January, 2008 at 6:14 pm #301662hi emma happynew year pet.
read a book last week that suggested that when the new world order is in position britain will become a virtual airport and re fueling station ? bush and his cronies are in this for the longhaul wether he is in power or not, he ultimateley will hand europe to the saudis as payment for oil. doable as well. you only have to see the figures for islamic relocation in europe to see that belgium a small but important country will soon become the first european islamic state, and the clergy in europe are saying as much. the recent rise in catholisism shows thet religion is on the rise again and this always means struggles and war.7 January, 2008 at 6:08 pm #301049@chickenman wrote:

Don’t forget the welsh getting free prescriptions. If your English your screwed  Mind you up north they still travel by donkey and have to get water from a well so it aint all roses up there
its not all roses by a long way but we dont mind at least here in the penine villages we have no ghettoes. [yet] we tend to police our villages from within, and we also keep it free from people who would turn us into a third world country, as for riding donkeys and getting water from wells, thats a good deascription of bradistan also known as bradford. they tend to keep the t.b ,rickets, and filthy strets to themselves. and they cn keep doing so.
i find it hard to believe that what ive read is totally untrue but as i say prove me wrong please ? ill google for a few minutes and see what i can find. :lol:5 January, 2008 at 4:46 pm #300403sorry ruby red i realy didnt intend to offend anyone north of the border as i said but if you google government facts. or look on newspaper websites the facts are there. my neice is heavily involved in the student union scene and she herself told me that uni students in scotland dont pay uni top up fees the same as they do here in england. i read the papers on line daily and have seen for myself that scool meals are free. [or does the express and the mail lie] thats possible i supose. i dont begrudge anyone recieving free anything from the government but it should be the same uk wide. dont you agree ? the post code lottery for cancer drugs does not apply in scotland. and i know this to be so as my aunt has cancer and m.s she was refused drugs on the basis that they are too expensive, and the same drugs are available for all in scotland. ? so if you think im talking shyte  i assure you it was not done in a derogatory way. i have no relatives with children at schol in scotland, but i got that from watching question time where hazel blears was asked why it was so. and she replied that it was the case, and that the government were planning to “roll the same service across the uk” so either she lied or i was hearing things. once again ruby no offence meant to the good folks north of the border, but its a fair point you make if im wrong. please feel free to prove me wrong about any of the facts pet and ill hold me hands up to it.. or you can shoot my new little kitten if you want. :? :?

This was obviously a carefully orchestrated Media opportunity – and dear Gordon got lots of lovely piccies in the papers etc showing just how caring and compassionate he really is.
Do you really believe this???
not for a moment, and im afraid that the photo op did him no favours. i was at a funeral yesterday where we saw off a very good friend who recently died of cancer. we were discussing the state of the world and putting our tenpenneth in about what should be done in the uk to put things right. and without exeption all of the company said that brown and co had to go. i was a little suprised at this, as we live in a village out in the sticks that has always been staunch labour. when i mentioned the hospital visit and the smarmy self satisfied grin on mr browns face, we all came to the conclusion that the government should be sued for false representation, at the ery least. first we had the iraq debacle where they sent our sons to die to protect george bush’s oil interests. and then we wake up one morning to find a complete stranger sitting in number ten, and not one of us voted for him…
what would happen, say if one of us decided to walk into our local council office and take up residence withot being voted in ? i can only summise that we would be locked up p.d.q by the police and either fined or imprisoned. [if not both]
not only has this man taken control of a foreign [to him] government but he has added over £700.00 to the average yearly tax burden to every single household bill in england. and i state england as in scotland the hike is significantly less, not to mention that, two thirds of the government cabinet are scottish ?
add that to the fact that, in scotland the police were paid their wage rise in full.
school meals are free for all infant and primary children.
university education is free in scotland.
there is no post code lottery for patients needing treatment with expensive drugs.
inner cities in scotland have been granted many millions to re generate areas that have previously been seen as undesirable.
i know this seems like sour grapes. but i promise you that is not the case as far as im concerned. i have relatives in scotland and i love the place, and especially the people. great folk in general.
people just seem to have not noticed that england has virtually no representation in the cabinet at all. and that mr brown and his back slapping cronies have passed laws to stop anyone having the audacity to criticise them. they put it down to anti terrorism and silence their critics with threat of prison.
what the hell will happen when they force us all to carry i.d cards, and then set the boys in blue on rounding up anyone who doesnt have an i.d card and throwing them in jail ? and where does it stop ? lock everyone up who isnt working or at university ?
lock anyone up who doesnt show on the state control computers ?
they are already storing the d.n.a. of every baby born in britain without asking permission not to mention the thousands of infant school children whose d.n.a was taken by teachers doing the governments bidding as the children would have been too frightened to have the police do it for them.
if they’re recruiting teachers to do this work, what the hell will they get doctors and nurses to do ? sterilise the mentally deficient or the poor. ?
will they be asking postmen to spy on people in case they have unregistered people hiding within their homes ?
will they ask the d.s.s to stop paying disability benefits to people because they are no longer capable of earning for the government ?
i knoiw this scenario is unlikeley but as unlikeley as it is. it is also possible. we have no idea what information this government is keeping on us. or what they intend to do with it.
some may say that if you do nowt wrong you have nowt to be scared of, but im not buying that. what happens when the goalposts are moved and you end up in jail for not cutting your lawn to government spec ? daft mabey but you get my drift dont ya.
when the germans decided on mass murder of the jews they simply plundered medical records from hospitals and doctors, and they knew exactly where to look for their victims. how easy wil it be for our government to rid itself of its opposition with the information they have gathered thus far…. ?
too easy for my liking by far. -
