If forced to decide between the two…..
11 June, 2008 at 1:35 pm #345325I voted tree-hugger – I like cars and I’m interested in them but a world without trees would be worse than a world without cars!
11 June, 2008 at 2:14 pm #345326I need a grey area. I love trees, but I’m way out in the country and in event of emergency need the car to get me to hospital in a hurry. Life or death ain’t black or white. Bugger it!
11 June, 2008 at 2:18 pm #345327Theres a tree i’d happily burn as all the wood pigeons roost in it and its above my car and they must have huge arses
Did you know if photosynthesis was perfect then we’d live in a black world and not a green one
Can i drive to a tree then hug it ?11 June, 2008 at 2:28 pm #34532811 June, 2008 at 2:30 pm #345329In a hybrid car naturally :D/
11 June, 2008 at 3:36 pm #345330wouldn’t it cost the the world around three trillion dollars a year for man to replicate what nature does for free, in that case I’d rather be a tree hugger
11 June, 2008 at 4:16 pm #345331Thing is, Dreamsprite, I appreciate what you’re saying, but it isn’t that simple. Some of us can’t walk, and don’t have available public transport, and some of us can’t wait for an ambulance to take an hour or more to reach us. I desperately need our big 4×4 so-called ‘gas-guzzler’ to transport me and my paraphernalia in event of emergency.
My hubby offsets things by producing his own bio-diesel, and we grow most of our own veg. But to be honest, I think the whole ‘carbon footprint’ malarkey is a big fat con.11 June, 2008 at 4:30 pm #345332But to be honest, I think the whole ‘carbon footprint’ malarkey is a big fat con.
I tend to agree. The real crisis looming is fuel scarcity as fuel stars to run low. That is why human induced climate change, if it is happenning, will be halted. But I did vote tree hugger!
Not all 4×4’s are gas guzzlers compared to some conventional high performance or luxury cars, so it’s wrong to single them out. Also 4×4’s aren’t always what they seem – most Jaguar X-Types are 4×4.
11 June, 2008 at 4:56 pm #345333Slap bang in the middle. I love the country, but I adore the hustle and bustle of the city too.
But I could NEVER live in the city. I like living close enough to get to it easily, but give me a tree and a field any day.
I could NOT live without nature around me, Id die of boredom (and carbon poisoning!) within a day!
