Ok, I’m no snob but it gets on my wick when people say “cheers” instead of thank you. All 3 of my kids continue to say it even though I pull them up on it all the time.
My eldest son who is 24 says im too polite to people. Is it possible to be too polite?? Do I sound like a snob over the “cheers” remark??@kent f OBE wrote:

Well I don’t think you sound like a snob for that! And nothing wrong with politeness ! I’m very polite, I always say ‘Please’ when telling someone to f*** off :lol: :lol: :lol:

Thinking about it i say cheers quite a lot but i consider myself to have good manners, leat they’re saying something eh. Dont think it’s being a snob objecting to that though
I say cheers too but i say it in a silly voice… like ‘cheee urrrrrs’ so does that make it better? :lol:

I used to love watching that program too Tweety, and no it doesn’t make you impolite, I never said saying cheers was impolite but it just got on my wick :lol: Afterall the original way of using the word cheers had nothing to do with thank you, so how did it start getting so widely used in this way? strange :lol: (i didnt research the word cheers btw before i posted this, so hope it had nothing to do with thank you :roll: )
