well most years i get one from birmingham city fc
my work mate and 2 of my neighbours are sad villa fans so i usualy flaunt it in front of them to wind them up cus villa are too miserable to send their fans one
but this yearmy mp has sent me one :o
designed by a 9 year old at a local school
and supported by a local businesswho said moaning at your mp wont get you any where
now ive got his attention
ill be telling him where he is getting wrong next year on a reg basis :P17 December, 2011 at 12:39 pm #485386Bah humbug and all that but I think christmas cards are farcical!
Everyone moans about having to write them, everyone worries they might offend someone by not returning their gesture. Some people we send them to we might not have even spoken to in years. They cost a fortune to post. We just toss them into a card holder and then have the whole environmental issue to deal with afterwards.
Yes… I wouldn’t care if I never got another christmas card… they just clutter and collect dust and to be honest would much rather see the sender and go for a christmas bevvie or 3 with them! Cheers and merry christmas

Never thought about this topic much to be honest…although what Melody has said is quite true but it’s all part of Christmas….loads of things including food go to waste …
I don’t think getting a generic card from a football club would be a treasured one…I mean especially from Birmingham City…………who in their right mind would admit to supporting Brummies  (waits for a repeat of last years onslaught on Brummies)

17 December, 2011 at 4:44 pm #485391Do people send Christmas cards like they used to? I mean with the www and texting is it a dieing tradition?
I have one card in particular I keep… it still makes me smile. Its the first card my husband gave me… its massive in a big box….. when he handed it to me I thought it would be all hearts and flowers :) wrong… on the front there is an old tramp… open it up and it says
Humbug and other salutations of the season!
Had to smile :)
17 December, 2011 at 4:57 pm #485392My father died suddenly in the middle of December a few years ago, my mother died suddenly 5 months later. I still treasure the last Christmas card they sent.

I have a basket the same Tinks .. we call it the ‘memory box’ there are cards for every occasion dating back to when i was small in there that I sent to my parents … Ive just recently started to separate certain things with the intention of giving the older children their own boxes …. wonderful reminders of times gone!
