had a problem for about a week now MSN wont even attempt to sign in when i go to trouble shooting it comes up with a yellow triangle next to key ports

Have you recently changed your Firewall or upgraded it as this sounds like a block problem what Firewall do you use ? and what is your OS, Cybercat :)13 August, 2006 at 4:16 pm #235770my os is windows XP home edition and i dont use a firewall apart from the one that is built in with the router and i cant turn that one off and i havent changed any settings on it i was in msn last monday Morning signed out rebooted pc then tried to sign in came up with that error everything else works skype trillon IE just not MSN i can use web messenger and i can acsess my hotmail so its defo a strange one ty for any help
13 August, 2006 at 4:26 pm #235771OK but i am concerned !!! a hard wire Firewall (router) is not adequate protection XP Firewall is OK but only good for incoming, please consider a good Free Firewall like Zone Alarm i can post the link and go through the setup with you, your choice.
MSN its not your Firewall so lets look at the registry, do you have CCleaner installed on your PC ?.

i have AVG which i use every morning

please look Here Xion had the same problem, so if you are OK with it we can get your PC clean and protected also MSN should be up and running soon.13 August, 2006 at 4:46 pm #235774thanks ive downloaded CCleaner ive run it fixed all the problems but msn still wont run i dont supose u have a big hammer i can hit this stupid machine with do u? lol
