Right I am sick of you lot moaning about your taps, most of you don’t know what you want or what’s out there.
First
DON’T PUT LEVEL TAPS OR MIXER TAPS IN YOUR KITCHENES
WRONG
WRONG
RIGHTRemember kitchen sinkers are work areas they get used and abused.
There ok for bathrooms or basins but not in the kitchen.
The main reason level taps or mixer taps start leaking is that people keep banging the tap handles or arms with cooking pans, roasting tins and more.
It’s like taking bloody hammer to then every time you wash up.
After about 12-18 months you end up replacing them.
Second
Most of the better and more expense taps are disk taps, they don’t have washers in them, but 2 ceramic disks.
You can buy a new cartage for a few models but not all of them.
In most case its cheaper and easy to just replace them.
Third
Don’t try and repair taps at home if you don’t know what kind of tap it is.
All taps are not the same, I have to keep 400 kinds of washers, and cartages in the van just stand a good chance of fixing them.
Don’t leave a dripping tap make the repair has soon has possible, leaving them 3 months don’t help and just means you will have to replace them.

27 September, 2007 at 10:18 pm #289010I was wondering if DOA uses rubber washers – or just neoprene.
