I am sick of people asking me for money, there was some old sod smelling of wee asking me for “spare change” for the cat protection league outside tesco’s today.

I need a new £25 tin opener, someone buy me one !!!!
Why not try making a deal next time? They give you a tin opener – you give them some spare change. I think that’s perfectly reasonable.
