go about getting someone off the phone or avoid them?
I have a very talkative aunt – phonecalls can be hours and I mean hours.
So to get her off my landline, I play with the ringtones on my mobile – I choose one and let it ring so aunt thinks I have to go…

Tell them about that religious cult you’ve just joined, and start listing abortion clinics you’ve recently firebombed. Mention words like ‘chosen’ and ‘rapture’ rather a lot. Say that you’re coming round right now and that you HAVE LEAFLETS.
Hell, it worked for me with the conservatory salesman.The alternative is to make very frantic clucking noises, followed by ‘”OMG I think we’re on some suicidal Chicken Hotline !!”, then hang up and look a bit smug,
(I only use that one when it’s me mum) . . . . . . . . . . . . .

When someone like your aunty rings, seen as you are aware she loves to talk for ages…implant your excuse at the beginning of the conversation. When she asks you what are you doing…say your friend is round for coffee, but say its ok to talk to you for a little while….then when your ears start sizzling and you know its time to put the phone down……implement your pre – excuse into an exuse :lol:

Quite right too, Kenty. I heard an OBE means you don’t have to poo anymore. :D

Quite right too, Kenty. I heard an OBE means you don’t have to poo anymore. :D
