My first time on Just Chat, it was during the evening…( Usually when there are a few nutters about )…

Well how gullible was I back then, younger of course and believed anyrhing that was typed in front of me, thinking that the person on the other side of the screen was genuine and honest..How gullible.

Now my life has moved on and my whole perspective of life has changed…( For the better ).

As someone once told me. Each wrinkle ob a persons face comes with experience and knowledge.

I’m aware there are some decent peoole using a chat room but I think that as time moves on in using chat room then we become far more wary and a lot more streetwise.

Ahhh those were the days of my forst experience using a chat room. U guess sime of us have felt the same when starting out in chat.

    Just my thoughts here people.

People are like that everywhere, not just in chat rooms.

I remember when I first started chatting and didn’t know what the abbreviations meant…….when someone said wb I thought it was for” where you been”….and I would say I went to get a drink etc…and think nosey gits ….but if I had been to the loo I’d never say lol

I had been on a US chat site when I briefly lived there, so I was used to the anonymity which stumps so many people when they first use chat, along with some of the strategies used to adapt.

People who are on jc for any length of time soon use those strategies too – not least the deceivers and the rest of us who learn to put up with the malicious and people who think they’re real smart.

One thing I noticed , and it’s what ang seems to be driving at, is the degeneration in manners which accompanies anonymity. In face-to-face conversation, we reserve any negative opinions for private amusement later. With anonymity, it’s upfront. This is probably due to the malicious ones, who would get a thump in the mouth if they were like that in face-to-face life.

Ah well, it’s worth it because you get to talk with and sometimes make friends with people you would never otherwise meet.
