Losing My Marbles
I’ve been trying to get my marbles back into the tin
But I opened it up, slipped and fell in
Beautiful colours in a league of their own
Like to stay inside as it feels like my home
The image of something so pretty by sight
But always changing through daytime and throughout the night
Music is in the air, and the madness is sound
It cannot be contained as the lids no longer around
But I can no longer stand on these shiny glass stones
I keep falling over and I’m bruising bones
I imagine a rope at the side of this can
I want to shine like these marbles, I cant stop until I am
Then out of the crazy world, by a hand
I was plucked very gently to suddenly stand
I was not in the right place, and not right for me
And thanks to that’s hand, all is now where it should be

I played marbles at school…people treated me like a fool, til i become so good at rolling glass…i kicked ass. LOL
of the two poems you’ve just posted, ms mizz, I far prefer this one. It;’s interesting, it’s got a good image (metaphor, really) and you keep at the image. You don’t go all over the show with you idea, you stick to it, and that’s a good way of writing a poem xx

there are so many people in chat that are so shallow and have no understanding of poetry hence why they never comment.
plenty never comment on the boards.
i guess i am the only person in chat with a poetic flare xxx

Sceptical Guy is a poet…he just didn’t know it
mr q, sceptical guy is a wannabe poet, but something is stopping him, and has stopped him for a long long time now.
But I do love reading poetry, and have done all my life (including nursery rhymes)

My previous comment was said in order to ‘goad’ and ‘bait’ others into posting their poetry. I would love to read other peoples.
I know its not a poetry forum. Everyone is wonderfully creative and unique.
Cowgirl is very artistic. I think she should post up some of her art work
