As Valentines Day is fast approaching I thought why not do something to celebrate it, why not do something to mark the occasion in the typical JC style and here it is, “The JC St Valentines Day Romantic Poem Competion”, a mouthful maybe but im hoping it’ll get as many laughs as awwwww’s.
Now strictly it’s not really a competition as the only prize is recognition for your winning poem, but I think notoriety is as good as any material prize.
Budding Poets are hereby encouraged (Tiny, I’m looking at you me old son) to write a little something for valentines day, whether it be about love in general or dedicated to a special someone in particular and the rest of you….? I want you to vote for your favourite Poem in nice big CAPS and the votes will be counted and the winner announced on Valentines day so get writing and have fun with it, the rest of you, its about the poem not the person who wrote it so bare that in mind when casting your votes and be kind!
All poems must be written by you and not coppied FROM google and we will be pasting them back into Google to make sure you haven’t done just that.
As this is my Thread I’m going to start things off with my very own poem and it is entitled “Wife”

“Wife”
Since you’ve been gone life couldn’t have been better,
So I’ve decided to tell you in the form of a letter,
While you’ve been away I’ve been happy and free,
Sat in my undies with beer and TV,
Laughs with the lads and sleeping with whores,
I just don’t think I can live this lie anymore,
Ive been to dinner and dancing and nights on the town,
Lifes been great with you not around,
I never wanted to hurt you and just walk out and leave,
But without you here with me I can finally breath,
So while you’re in hospital and I know this aint fair,
What with the Chemotherapy and losing your hair
I just have to tell you and its more than mere rumour,
My darling, my dearest how I love your Tumor.
