I find the whole Jackie Powell thing very worrying…. she is a self appointed mental health advocate with no previous experience of mental illness. She isn’t employed by anyone and does the work for no payment….. as far as the prison is concerned she is a visitor and they do not recognise her as a mental health professional.

Seems to me he is controlling this woman possibly just as he did Hindley… it all seems very sinister, I wonder if the letter ever actually existed at all.

I didn’t know that. If that’s the case then she cannot claim any client / patient privilege.

The police were right to arrest her.

Let’s hope there is a letter and it does reveal Keith’s whereabouts so he and his mum can be buried together.

i didn’t know that either, and not how it came across in the documentary at all unless i missed a crucial bit in the first 5 minutes, and i agree with panda, if that is the case, yes she should have passed the letter over to the police straight away. She would not be in anyway bound and morally would have been the right thing to do, and i guess legally with holding evidence, the fact she supposedly handed the letter back to him though?? or was there never a letter like you say.
She talked about his illness as if she was a medical professional though, maybe she has issues too, bit odd to class yourself and come across as such if you aren’t, very odd.
I hope the family get some peace and closure though, winnie will now hopefully be with keith, and be able to rest in peace. Shocking the whole thing.

I believe brady was testing her ” friendship”…that used to having people write to him then sell similar stories to the Press. I think in the passage of time he has forotten, where the poor wee laddie is. She declares that she handed back the letter as she could not live with it on her conscience.Ane she had done herself No good at all with going to Channel 4.. as it may or may NOT have been the pre-cursor to an admission of sorts..

I can remember me and my sister being sent up the stairs when news articles came on the telly.. I was only small myself then. My mum and dad were scared it would give us nightmares. Then again During the Mary Bell trial.. ( another charming child murderess) .

Ian brady ..I hope you live in misery for a very long time. Death is too good. Keep him alive and tortured and force fed.

I dunno Ruby… are we all supposed to think he wants to kill himself by starvation? in the meantime whilst ever we consider he is a threat to himself he lives in the comparative luxury of the hospital being fussed about by medical folks….. call me cynical :?
