Fortunately I don’t have many of them, and you get a kind of sixth sense on whether someone is seriously interested or tyre kicking – I just smile and treat them the same as any other customer, you never know, they might come back and buy another time.

‘Tis what some would call a new age gift shop…we sell crystals, stunning jewellery even if I do say so myself, buddhas, fairies and dragons, incense, but we also do more mainstream but ethically sourced and natural products like soya wax candles, natural organic skincare, so I prefer the label holistic gift shop to new age giftshop.

It might surprise you to know that around 40% of my customers are male, they’re an enlightened lot down here…and you can have the mates discount if you come and collect it :P
