saw this thread earlier mary j. mr pats fooked his knee up yrs ago. hes ad 2 ops to remove bone fragments an physio. surgeon told him after a yr it was a waste of time him keep attending his clinic as only thing they cud do was replace his knee wif a plastic one an he was too young as u only get one shot at knee replacements and worst scenario was if it went wrong he cud lose his lower leg  he just teks painkillers now and if it gets real bad he has to go to casualty and ave excess fluid drained from his knee. this to a bloke who played footy an squash 3 times a week dint go down well but its something he has had to learn to live wif. its vey rare u will find anyone one under 50 gettin hip or knee replacements cos its a one off thing.
here had the fluid DRAINED OMG… u cud hear me screams in Edinburgh lol effin agony twas…!!! yeah ive been told the same really, only they will OP when the bone grows and im in more pain… im currently on co-drdramol now as the co-cod / paracem 500’s were’nt touchin the pain… then I got morphine and eff that trippin like hell..!!! so they got me on that now…. for 36 i walk like the way Billy Connolly describes the CarPark Attendent with the limp lmfao… ‘ oi Ya canny park there..!! ‘ lol

My friends Husband has had this done as his kneecaps were shattered years ago. Now he has had one, he is adamant he wont have the other one done, and still feels unsure as to what (if any) difference it has made. The recovery time was horrendous.
Everybody is different though, so fingers crossed it all goes well hun x

hello arbito mate .. speaking as an ex nurse.. your actually probably better not having a knee replacement .. the scarring and adhesions you’ll incur through multiple ops will only aggrevate the tissue and muscles.. you actually dont need a knee cap like a few other organs and bones in the human body, and might find that just strengthening your upper thigh muscles and ligaments around the knee area will work better .. my sister in law had a car crash and ended up having her knee cap breaking through her skin (compound fracture) they took it out.. offered her a plastic one.. we went online to check it out… for the last 6 years she’s been without a knee cap and doesnt have to worry about it being either rejected by her body, nor infection .. check it out. it might not be what you need but i thik every little bit of info helps xx best of luck hun hope everything goes well xx
hey Red thxs for the info… i don’t know how to say my condition… but it was explained to me that… the knee joint… its the fluid that the knee makes, well mine doesnt stay as fluid it turns into crystal then grows into bones then they get bigger and trapp into my knee join etc… then my knee swells and retains fluid, plus its like a burnin knife shootin thru ur body and well i feel sick as..!! also im allergic to anti-imflamtrays can’t breathe ..!! so its just pain killers, they did say it could keep happening… hense why id of thought take the whole knee out and it won’t happen as no fluid..!! just oiled lol
