There is a substantial amount of paranoia revolving around so-called new users and accusations that they are in fact somebody else with a duplicate account.. To the best of my knowledge, most of these accusations are without any basis in fact – although it is fair to say that some are true.
My best advice is to take new users at face value and judge them on the quality and content of their posts. If they join in and contribute in some way to everybody’s general enjoyment …. then why not make them welcome and leave it at that.

I’ve also just given you an example of how Rangers tried immediately wash their hands of it without possibly knowing if it was their fans who were involved. The buck stops somewhere.
