How come they’re allowed a website if it’s illegal?
I wondered that. We could start one just as an experiment called PPKM (Pol Pot Kmehr Rouge) and see what happens.
26 April, 2006 at 9:16 pm #211414Prescott is our deputy prime minister, though that is something of a courtesy title since Gordon Brown clearly takes precedence.
Politicians having affairs is a non-party matter since Labour, Conservatives, Lib Dems have all had examples. John Major and Edwina Curry had an affair, Paddy Ashdown admitted to having one, as did the late Robin Cook.
I don’t condone politicians or anyone else having secret affairs but these things happen.
It is not a resignation matter, unlike the Charles Clarke prisoner release booboo.
26 April, 2006 at 11:18 am #211122Communism is the only thing that will save the west!!
(Joking, but on reflection that might be the case!)
26 April, 2006 at 7:24 am #211010If moderate politics fail I guess we’re all susceptible to ‘flipping’ to extremism, whether of a left, right or religious variety. That’s how totalitarians get enough support to gain power.
25 April, 2006 at 6:50 pm #211007Political movements always present themselves in ways that attract support through making themselves sound appealing and benign.
Communist governments were masters of this – talking about peoples’ this and peoples’ that while their dictatorial elites built themselves a state within a state – Ceaucescu’s Romania was the prime example – villages demolished and people housed in concrete tenements while Ceaucescu built himself marbled palaces.
So the BNP presents itself as the voice of reason in the same way.
It does look like we are now entering the post-multicultural era (courtesy of radical islamists) and this fragmentation of European society has to be handled very carefully to preserve what goodwill we can.25 April, 2006 at 12:54 pm #210804The white guy got a £500 fine and a ban, the asian got £200 fine and 6 points. On the SAME day by the SAME judge……so sorry to get high rate but to me that was about colour against the white man!
Possibly because with motoring offences the fine can be tailored to the wealth of the offender – the white person might have been significantly richer than the Asian. Re: points / disqualification – perhaps the white man had ‘previous’ in the illegal driving sector.
24 April, 2006 at 10:55 pm #210796Feminism has now moved on to post-feminism, whatever that is.
Modernist architecture has likewise moved on to post-modernism.I think we are now entering the post-multiculturalist age (whatever that might mean). However I sense that there is now divergence and distancing between cultures in UK and elsewhere now as the 70’s ‘coffee coloured melting pot’ theory is buried.
I thought I was a bit clever thinking up the term post-multicultural/ist/ism so I looked it up on the net and there is very little but it seems to have been used to describe a trend seen as PC-positive where cultures are allowed to develop separately. That is surely a recipe for future civil war!
23 April, 2006 at 10:20 pm #210488How about the name ‘Dealers Patch’ – it has basically the same meaning but with different connotations!!!
22 April, 2006 at 9:04 pm #210484The king of Nepal is only king because one of his relations shot the rest of the royal family a few years ago.
As for ‘rightful monarch’ this is all a matter of power. I can declare myself Emperor of the European Union but without any power to back that up it is meaningless!!!
22 April, 2006 at 10:33 am #210481… but if they have some oil i expect America and her puppet could go sort it out
What??? Bordering Chinese-occupied Tibet and about to be taken over by Maoists? More likely Nepal will eventually become part of China like Tibet did than be invaded by the USA.
