Wow..an astounding Celtic/Thrash version of the Tri Martolod..
You asked, so I’m at liberty to bore you all with the following: I once headed off to a disco in Aviemore along with my cousin, by means of hitching a lift on a tractor..we were hanging off each side, just above the wheels (singing at the tops of our lungs) so thank god the local plod didn’t catch sight of us.
A wonderful night of bopping ensued, with me finishing the evening in a close smoochy dance with a gorgeous chap who looked like Cat Stevens. He was trying to write down my phone number when I was dragged away by my Uncle who had turned up to collect us..the joy-killing auld fecker. End of budding romance for ickle Esmeralda.
Howsoever, my cousin informed me that a week or so later, she was listening to the radio and heard a request for a girl answering to my name and description from the disco that very night in Aviemore; from the Cat Stevens lookalike..whose name was Jerry apparently. Soooo..to cut a long story short..this record isn’t so much cheesy of itself as in the inception of the request..and of a night I will always remember..Theye are being realistic, Sharon, at their ages there are probably many years ahead of different lovers and romances. Getting tied down too young is invariably folly.
And DOA..you’re talking out of your blowhole as usual; my nephew is about to start his third year studying medicine at Dundee University – his Uni of choice after being offered others – so terrific is its reputation. You are of course, simply courting controversy for controversy’s sake, but I didn’t want to miss an opportunity to boast about my gorgeous tall handsome clever nephew.
