…Then I bought Foxtrot..round about the same time I used to soak my ciggies in TCP…dry them out in the airing cupboard..then puff frantically trying to get a high. Didn’t work..but I never had a sore throat
10 September, 2006 at 11:34 pm #240975Owen..loved David Bowie best in his Ziggy days. The Man Who Sold The World was one of the first L.P.s I bought [the first was The Best Of the Move..and I kinda pinched that one] that followed about a year after I bought Starman as a single. I had quite a stash of singles before leaving them in front of the fire and finding them warped into ashtrays. My folks claimed on the insurance..all I got was enough to but two new singles..one of them was Slades Look Wot You Done..that started me collection up again.
10 September, 2006 at 11:22 pm #240972Thanks Poshy
James..saw the Lamb tour April 75 at the Usher Hall..it had been postponed from the previous November..which p/i/ssed us off..as by the time we got to see them they had gathered in popularity and we wanted to keep them all to ourselves Do I get any Brownie points for mentioning that Steve Hackett winked at me..before I nearly choked to death on the dry-ice..we had front row tickets! I was VERY VERY YOUNG at the time

10 September, 2006 at 10:48 pm #240968we were probably at some of the same gigs..James. Todd Rundgren..Camel [did you know Pete Bardsley died recently?] Hawkwind. I don’t suppose you were ever into Caravan? Never saw them at the Apollo…but That would have been a gig! Lynyrd Skynyrd..I still remember where I was when I heard about the crash…my bro played Freebird non-stop for a month…Was also at a great Gong concert..with Bloomdido and Yoni..but was too wasted to remember where I was. Marvellous
10 September, 2006 at 10:39 pm #240966Owen    I didn’t manage any naughty mushrooms at Steve Hillage..but I tanned a whole bottle of vodka..I was supposed to be sharing it with my pals..but it slipped my mind. I’d promised to bring my brother home a Hillage poster..but was found curled up on top of it in the toilets in a pool of sick. I think I enjoyed the gig
10 September, 2006 at 10:34 pm #240964James..you’re ruddy psychic. Peter Gabriel :D My friend and I adored this man when we were in our early teens..we were going to run away to Bath to be near him..These were in the days when he was still with Genesis….when wee Collins knew his place and stayed on the drums. We adopted the slightly shaved head look and black eyes that Peter made his own  Saw him recently..a portly bald fellow with a grey beard..but he can still kick Collins’ ass
