Of course we are my dear old Bat. DOA is a very serious person and deserves the utmost seriousness in return.
(You’ve got to be nice to pummers ‘cos you never know when you’ll need one).
25 May, 2006 at 9:18 am #220779Bas – It could be that our resident plumber (or ”pummer” as he prefers to call himself) might be able to assist you with some misspelt words of advice.
Painting and decorating can be a dirty job and expert advice is not to be lightly sneered at.
Apparently, he is a member of OW-WAIT (Organisation for Workers – With Arm In Toilet), and he is something of an expert in cleaning up other people’s messes.
I’m sure he will turn out to be a mine of information.
24 May, 2006 at 11:18 pm #220777That’s our old friend ”Toss Pails” isn’t it Tommy. Wasn’t he also (briefly) the Editor of the JC Times???
24 May, 2006 at 4:16 pm #220733Fair point Becky. But if I may speculate a bit, consider this:
What if the mother’s ethnic or cultural background was such that admitting to her ”family” that she was pregnant – especially if the father wasn’t of her own ethnic background – could have resulted in her being thrown out or even murdered in an ”honour killing”.
What if she was raped by a man and was too ashamed to tell her ”family” or husband that she was pregnant as a result?
I really find it difficult to ”blame” a woman in these curcumstances – especially if she is in fear of her life.
Yes, I know it’s just speculation, but what if it’s true………..???

All my staff will be on call again and know one is happy about it.So do tell us….. how much skill does it take to stuff your arm down a blocked lavatory???

i think we have to wait for the real facts to come out,if they ever do.
but i feel sick at the thought of what this poor baby went through in its very very short life :(
i hope they find out what happened and make some arrests soonThis poor baby was undoubtedly murdered in cold blood pretty much as soon as it was delivered. (The umbilical cord etc was still attached). Smal comfort I know, but the chances are that its lifespan was measured in minutes at the most – if not in seconds. I am sure that we all hope that its suffering was very limited.
You know Becky, I do agree with you on this. SOMEBODY clearly knows exactly what happened, and SOMEBODY also is fully responsible for striking the blow that crushed the baby’s skull.
I find it hard to believe, given the ‘mechanics’ of childbirth, that the mother was the one that did this terrible deed. That is why I say, and continue to say, we ought not to condemn the mother like this unless and until her culpability can be established. She may have been in some way forced to watch whilst her newborn baby was murdered in front of her. How terrible is that?????????

Well something to do with it yes. Someone in the family knows something fgs. Her mother knows at least so YES it does  As for parents who knows but someone is not stepping up to the sick thing they did FACT!
FACT????? …..Er not necessarily Becky.
You assume that the mother wasn’t also killed in an ”honour killing” by her own famiily. Maybe she was, maybe she wasn’t – right now nobody knows.
You asume that her ”family” knew all about this pregnancy and birth – we simply don’t know do we?
First you accuse the mother, then you accuse the familly and arro=gantly state ”FACT” at the end of your tirade of accusations.
How about you wait for some real facts before you pronounce ”FACT” and sit back with an air of smug self righteousness?
24 May, 2006 at 10:08 am #220717If you find the story behind the Da Vinci Code fascinating, and the concept the Jesus was married to Mary and all that flows from it…. then I can reccomend a some background reading.
The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail – by Michael Baigent & Richard Leigh & Henry Lincoln. (published by Corgi Books ISBN 0-552-12138-X)
The Temple and the Lodge – same authors (Corgi Books ISBN 0-552-13596-8)
The Hiram Key – by Christopher Knight & Robert LomasCentury Books ISBN 0-7126-8579-O)
For those of you that read the above books, you will find them really thought provoking indeed.
24 May, 2006 at 9:53 am #220721You all assume that it was the mother that did this. Why???
What if it was the father….. or even the ‘family’ of the mother???
Remember that the baby was found with the umbilical cord still attached and it had been beaten to death. Could it, for example, have been an ‘honour killing’ – the baby was apparently of an Asian / Englich ethnicity.
The pregnancy apparently hasn’t been recorded at any medical centres in the surrounding area. Doesn’t this point towards a woman who conceived, kept the pregnancy ‘secret’ and then had the baby snatched from her immediatly it was born, murdered, and just dumped in a carrier bag.
You all rush to condemn the mother but I’ll bet it turns out that she is the victime here, along with her dead baby.

Most people here seem reasonably intelligent, and capable of cooking a healthy meal.
However, there are people out there who have not a clue how to rear children. And
those badly reared children may go on to become bad members of society, and bad

Anything this government does to try to tackle bad parenting should be welcomed.Well that’s an interesting statement from our resident Socialist and supporter of the Dear Leader. The novelty is that the Government is actually doing anything at all – apart from holding press conferences and listening to focus groups.
Here’s a good one. Tthe recent eye catching ”initiative” (announced by the Education Secretary Alan Johnson) that schools scrap junk food and introduce ”healthy foods”, has already been ”announced” seven times in the last nine years and still hasn’t been acted on – maybe they will yet again blame this on someone else…… yes that’s a good idea….. lets blame the Tories, it’s bound to be their fault isn’t it? After all we have only been in power for a decade or so.
This latest ”announceable” that school pupils will be weighed at ages 4 and 10 is another classic example of governement by news headlines.
Schools still haven’t been given any guidelines as to what they should do if they have a fat child on their hands. Indeed the definition of ”overweight” has not even been circulated to LEA’s much less to schools.
I fully expect the Dear Leader to hold another highly publicised meeting at No 10 with Jamie Oliver when he can weep fake tears for a generation of starving children rescued from child poverty…… ooops sorry, wrong press release…. obese children with unhealthy eating habits.
