Well now James – you have had a bit of a rant eh? I don’t think we are trying to drive our users away, as you so delicately put it. All that has happened is the site has had a major makeover. Users have been whingeing about the previous colour scheme for ages. Now you have a new one to whinge about OK?

If you mean by ”are we REALLY stuck with it” will it be changed again in the forseeable future – then the short answer is NO. It has taken many many months of work to redesign the entire site and I think it highly unlikely that the colour schemes will be changed again. So break out the sunglasses, fit screen anti glare filters……………….and remember – we care !!!
Just for your information…… in line with our new squeaky clean image at JustChat, we have imposed a compulsory ban on smoking.
This means that if any board user is known to be smoking whilst they read or reply to ANY thread on this board, they will face severe civil penalties.
The conditions of use are being amended to include this rule.
Look guys there are hundreds of thousands of ‘phpBB’ driven message boards on the internet (try Googling it and you get 142,000,000 hits) and I bet that they are all slightly different from each other in some way.
OK so Orange and pastel Grey doesn’t appeal to everybody. But no matter what colour combination you chose, you would provoke likes and dislikes.
Martin has spent the last several months to my personal knowledge working bloody hard to totally re-design the entire site – message boards, chat forums and so on – and to have a common theme running throughout the whole thing.
We went through a number of mock ups using different colour schemes and styles and eventually settled on this one as it was felt to have a ‘clean’ and uncluttered feel to it. The preference is always for a minimalist look and a three clicks and you’re in approach.
He didn’t change the chat software (although we looked at a number of different ones) nor did he change the main functionality of the message boards. this means that our thousands of users can find what they need with the minimum of disruption.
OK so some don’t like the colour scheme – sorry about that. But hey, this is what we have people so why not just get on with it and use the facilities to enjoy yourself eh???
