We had thought of having some sort of privilege access to the site on payment of a little bit extra – but before we go forward with this we are focusing on getting as many current users to sign up as possible.
We do realise that having several hundred users in a chatroom may be a little bit crowded and perhaps a seperate ”privileged Forum” is the solution.

None of the operations Staff will have access to the database of our users, for obvious security reasons. That includes all of the ChatGuides and the ForumHosts..
Access to this part of the database is on a strictly ”need to know” basis and the only people who will have this access are ChatHostUK, the Financial Controller, and one senior administrator. Their access is strictly limited and they are logged in and out so there is a full audit trail.
We really have thought through the security implications of this and we believe that our control systems are fully robust.
Just to put people’s minds at rest on this credit card thing.
The page where you sign up and pass your credit card details is secured with 124 bit encryption. The data is held on a separate part of the server; is secure password protected and can only be accessed by senior JustChat staff.
I really cannot see where the problem lies. Using credit cards to pay for things electronically is a normal part of life for millions of internet users. Why on earth should JustChat users be different???

Pete the ”10 minute” rule won’t apply to the message boards. The inactive log out time on here will remain as is. It will only apply to the chat Forum and then only if a user signs in and then doesn’t either login to the message board feature OR to the chatroom feature.
As for the start date. Originally we were going to launch at the end of this month to give all the Staff time to get used to the software ‘offline’. However, on talking it through amongst ourselves we all thought that the sooner the better – and this weekend was the first one after our meeting.
You can put these things off endlessly if you want but sooner or later you have to bite the bullet.

Anyway you lot are grossly prejudiced against the elderly. It’s exactly this sort of prejudice and ageism that the Government is trying to stop with its new anti discrimination legislation which comes into effect this October.
So just watch your step, as I am already taking names and collecting evidence – one wrong word and you’ll be hearing from my solicitors.
I stand to make loads-a-money out of suing the age prejudiced – so there !!!
