It’s all about self gratification really; as long as people continue to have these urges then prostitutes will remain. The simple fact that this is a business, however lucrative, shows there is a requirement for it. Many people marry their partners for instance, only to find out later that their needs cannot be met by their partner in the bedroom. The main issue here I think is the ability to overcome these urges, there is such a thing as celibacy, restraint and not forgetting of course DIY. After-all, the use of a prostitute is merely to rid yourself of an urge, at a cost.
Isn’t it true that there is someone for everyone?
Far better we concentrate on rewarding people in legitimate employment, changing the values put upon people in their respective rolls within this society and allowing them to live in a dignified way with a dignified means to a dignified end. Given the slanted society we now live in, this will not happen soon.
