if my child had downs i would love her or him all the more
not that i’m dismissing the all consuming role that is for the parents
i’m talking about the case you highlighted
i would never let my child suffer if i had the choice
as regards the mother the depths of her despair only she clearly knew
its tragic she felt that was the only option available to her

my empathy towards her plight is boundless
when my wife was pregnant for the last time we were offered the triple test
we refused it because no matter what , it was our child
and i dont say that lightly
in this extreme case ,where there is no hope just suffering
as hard as it may be
if it was my call i would choose the ending of my childs life
i believe as a parent you protect your child from suffering at all costs
i would of made that call
