Well this thread bore fruit, or maybe vegetables.

I vomitted creamola all over a dinner lady when I was 8, it was nearly as bad as tapioca which was slimy and gloopy with bits in it and looked like frogspawn. The only think I hated more than creamola and tapioca was pink custard with the thick skin on it.
Actually, no I hated them all equally.
5 August, 2008 at 5:38 pm #359890Her legal advisors would have told her to remain silent.
She is innocent until proved guilty. Despite trying really really hard, the Portugese police didn’t manage to find any evidence at all that the parents were guilty.
This whole situation has been done to death, both in the media and here on the boards. The Portugese police have been shown to be incompetent and they have still not found a whole bunch of other little children that also went missing within a short time frame.
Where are all the missing children? That is the question I would like answered, and I doubt Kate knows.
4 August, 2008 at 8:34 pm #358597If someone is addicted to drugs, and takes them regularly, they have to buy them (sorry for stating the obvious here). The people who have a lot of money have no trouble getting hold of as much as they want. The people who are not rich or famous have to find ways to raise money to get their daily fix. I am no expert, but I am pretty sure that when their need for drugs surpasses their income, they beg borrow or steal. They then become a statistic.
Until someone crosses the line and ends up on the wrong side of the law (not counting taking illegal substances!), they generally are left to get on with it from what I can make out.
The police seem only to be interested in getting the big hauls and the dealers, and more or less leave the people taking the drugs alone….. unless, as I have said.. they commit crimes.
As for all those people who have died from drug overdoses…. they were stupid to take drugs in the first place, but that doesn’t detract from the fact they were all someone’s daughter, son, mother, brother, sister, father etc. In my view it doesn’t matter if they were famous or not, the end result of a death caused by addiction is the legacy of sadness they leave in their wake.
3 August, 2008 at 7:05 pm #358633Ah well you see, I don’t have a cordless vac with a nozzle. I have a vac with a cord and no nozzle.
I’ll just tie the string to a door handle and slam the door next time. :D
As for cobwebs… i am pretty sure I don’t have a spider.

Bletchley Park is struggling to survive. the building is in a state of disrepair to the point of the trust having to sell roof tiles to keep the museum going.
This was properly one of the most important buildings of the second world war.
The Bletchley Park Trust receives no external funding. It has been deemed ineligible for funding by the National Lottery, and turned down by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation because the Microsoft founder will only fund internet-based technology projects.
A developer wants to build housing on the site. Should the government fund the museum and building and save it from being lost for ever ?
there is a petition on the downing street website for those who want to save it.i live just down the road to bletchley park, used to work there and have been under the buldings chicken man, the building is fascinating , it gives u a sense of history , it has to stay its lovely and set in beautiful grounds too
I have never been there, so perhaps I was hasty. But the National Trust are pretty good at snapping up likely looking sites with grounds, so am not sure why they haven’t bid for this one. Must be something we don’t know if the Lottery turned it down too.
