From an album called It Goes Without Saying
You Do Something to Me – All the Time by the Dum DumsMum felt fine
Wanting to kill the family before the news
She’s the ruler of the Prozac kingdom
Her appliances and phoney conversations
Talk to your mum, Wendy
Even if she seems distant lately
It’s just the sunshine in her eyes
The weather that the doctor prescribedAnd Wendy’s warming her hands on the flames
The Halvesons will never be the same, woah-oh-oh(Chorus)
You do something to me
You do something to me
You do something to me all the timeDad was sick
He got his fingers burnt getting close to an old flame
Wonders why his wife cries all the time
He wonders why he can’t find peace of mind
You can’t expect your kids to turn out fine
When you’re playing with matches
Another tragic fall from success
Nero fiddles on enchantedAnd Wendy’s warming her hands on the flames
The Halvesons will never be the same, woah-oh-oh(Repeat chorus twice)
He wanders god-like through the ruins of his private world
Lights up a joint and Wendy slips away
Looks for redemption in her hazel eyes
And cries all the time woah-oh-oh(Repeat chorus twice)
Woo-hoo-hoo (all the time)
Woo-hoo-hoo (all the time)
Woo-hoo-hoo (all the time)
Woo-hoo-hoo (all the time)
Woo-hoo-hoo (said all the time)
Woo-hoo-hoo (I said all the time)
Woo-hoo-hoo (all the time)love some of the lines in this…..the weather the doctor prescribed…. he got his fingers burnt by an old flame, he wanders god-like through the ruins of his own private world… funny little song :)

As a proportion of the child population, violent death rates almost halved from 32 to 17 per million children.
The paragraph you refer to is directly above this one. The two do not match up because there are 11.8 million children under 14 in this country, therefore, 17 children per million dyring and that is around the 200 mark (yes I rounded up to 12 when i calculated!).
Their figures are a load of old tosh! They said that the incidence when down from 134 to 84.. if that is the case then if the violent death rates have dropped to 17/million children then that means there are only 5 million children. I think you’ll find that there are more than that!

And here… its raining.
21 February, 2010 at 12:44 pm #432168I did read it properly :) hence my comment about not patting ourselves on the back. I am glad we have halved the amount of children dying, but if there are 12 million children that is still 204 little ones dying violent deaths every year.
And let us not forget that for every child that dies, there are hundreds who suffer in silence.
