MY MAKER

I lay one night in my bed
A couple of pillows beneath my head
Covered in a quilt from head to toe
Only my head is left to show
I feel a shiver down my spine
Someone walks over the grave that is mine
Then a figure appears before my eyes
Nothing unusual except his size
Eight inches tall he stands on my sheet
I notice he has no feet
Staring at me face to face
He spoke “I’m taking you to your resting place”
With these words, I could not oppose
My eyes grow heavy and slowly close
Yet he has not vanished from my sight
In fact he is taller, more my own height
He led me down a familiar road
Spoke “concentrate now and for ever be hold
This is the place where you shall die”
I can tell from his face that this is no lie
Tears begin to run down my face
Looking upon my resting place
Who will do it and why?
Gazing at me he lets of a sigh
“I cannot tell you but your maker can
He controls the lives of everyman”

HIT ME

I lie here in my bed, not wanting to sleep
The bed beside me, a monitor constantly bleeps
Nurses keeping a vigilant eye
On patients asleep nearby
My illness, disease hasn’t really hit me yet
To sink into my and allowed to set
I don’t really know why
I have a compelling urge to cry
To grab hold of someone and just scream
My anger building up and fighting to survive
Just to let everyone know I am still alive
I’ve been no angel throughout the years
I don’t deserve to be broken to tears
Sadness I cannot allow to tip the scale
I will fight and happiness will prevail
