I think it is wrong, and i know of several similar cases the same.

I had a mate who did 22years in the army and during his time he did several tours of ireland, iraq etc etc.

His passport ran out with just 2 months left in the army, and the passport office wouldn’t renew his passport because he was born in St Lucia.

22 years for what, a knife in the back from the country he so proudly fought for.
