The UK economy was built off the back of immigrants, slaves and the colonies…let’s not kid ourselves about that. If you want facts, go and study 18th/19th century socio-economic history. As for why Poland doesn’t have much of an economy, again go study the history of the country.

I worked for a place last summer which only employed Brits. The hours were long (we did an 83 hour shift one week) and the work was hard and physical.
There’s no shortage of British grafters – in fact the owner of the business himself didn’t think Polish workers were up to it and wouldn’t consider employing them.
That’s a very different story to yours.
