its hard work i can tell you! we panicked when we were overtaken and our oars went all out of sync in the scramble to get ahead! i couldnt even get my oar in the water at one point, there were oars flying everywhere! so, my advice is to keep it together and row to the rhythm. I was told off during the practice run because the instructor said i wasnt leaning to the side enough, i was almost in the water ffs scared i was gonna fall in :P
