Dunno, but if we ever explore we’d probably try to observe any species we came across to see what they’re like (probably for a few hundred years) instead of jumping in and shaking hands with them straight away.

I’m not saying it isnt totaly unexplainable i’m saying it isnt aliens they come from other planets therefore they far more intelligent/advanced than us why hide and if they wanted to hide how come they get spotted pretty stupid or clumsy i’d say
