7 March, 2010 at 11:51 pm #431196I dont think religion held science back necessarily, technical expertise certainly did. The chinese who invented just about everything suddenly didnt because they didnt have glass and what they did have reacted with stuff, “western” scientists had glass which is very unreactive and so the chinese were held back. Some scientists put forward theories which possibly just weren’t questioned enough so science was held back as most took the theories as gospel till some brave soul debunked them. Religious scholars certainly ask questions. I dont think either side can simply be dismissed is my point i guess

7 March, 2010 at 11:15 pm #431194And science doesn’t know all the answers which is why it keeps asking the questions, some of Einsteins theories are now being questioned and found to be lets say not 100%. Science is always stating stuff which is later amended or even found to be complete rubbish eg phlogiston (if thats spelt right). Maybe science will prove or disprove God, who knows
7 March, 2010 at 11:03 pm #431192I think the same applies to a person making the evolution claim or big bang claim… they have no proof of either as they have no proof of God. There is evolution but from a virus (lets say) to every plant animal fungi and bacteria on the planet ? Maybe the truth is a mix of the two who knows, certainly not David Icke
7 March, 2010 at 10:47 pm #435231oh yeah and    1/3 means 2/3 are good or 75% if you like.. not bad i’d say

dont talk such utter Hot Chocolate, you’re basing a police force as a whole on your experiences of 4 or 5 police officers. I used the same context you did and you’re backpedalling like hell. It’s as likely that because you smoke the stuff you were afraid you’d get caught and so you acted suspiciously
You really are that thick………?
The officers i have had personal experience with, the MAJORITY of them have been as bent as they come……..that better….? i repeat, there will be some with honourable intentions, more than likely, they will not progress…. OK …now you can distort that any which way you want to….but..in my opinion/view/personal experience…..they stink…
I have NEVER been convicted of a drug offence, they just aint quick enuff…. :)When i was 18 i had no trouble with the police, when i was 19 i had no trouble with the police, when i was 20 i had no trouble with the police, when i was 21…. you get the picture.
Actually when i was 18 i met 2 excellent police officers and one tosspot the very same night indeed the very same time the tosspot arriving and sodding up the good work being done by the other twoThat makes 1/3rd ….
did i say that was every police officer i’ve ever had dealings with ?. And remind me never to comission a poll from you sample 5 people and make a sweeping statement based on that poll. Oh and it aint they’re not quick enough they aren’t interested in your little bit of puff and to be honest you look shifty

Well one belief cannot be disproven simply because of the nature of it. The burden of proof is always on the person making the claim.
Problem is your making the claims yet not proving anything, I’m claiming nothing
