im new to this site and whilst im more of a lurker than a poster id like to share with you my own experience..
i started smoking over 30 years ago, i have made probably dozens of attempts that lasted anything from a day to six months so i don’t really consider those real attempts, i have what i call a 4 year itch as twice i have quit for four years and each time the smell and just the thought of lighting up repulsed me but in weak moments i have succumbed again, each attempt ive made its been cold turkey, no gum, tablets, patches or fake cigarettes, another thing i did is i never said i was stopping smokin, i would say im seeing how long i can go without having a smoke, i think that takes some of the pressure off of yourself, i know we are all different and its whatever works for each individual but i absolutely believe the single best thing that will help you is your desire to stop…
i havent had a cigarette for just over two and a half years now, yay :D …and thats great but of course my goal is to reach and pass my four year stumbling block, with my track record i cannot say with absolute certainty that i will never smoke again, but i can say for certain that i will never give up trying…
have to commend you anc on your great effort to kick the habit, yes its a struggle every day but it does get easier…am rootin for ya..
