that is all really true actually. ! I was seeig a londoner for a while and he could not beleive i would help folks with buggies up escalators etc. I lived in london when Younger. last time i went it seemed to be far more people there. maybe an age thing.Even near took a panic attack at Victoria with the amount of people they let on the tube. it is a shame as there is a lack of trust down there to even help another human being. Suffice to say when he came up here he was astonished at how everyone spoke to him,and wanted to know why he was up here etc. maybe us scots are nosey fvckers

So true:
“Trains, buses and trams might seem natural venues to start a friendly chat. But do be careful. For many Britons, initiating conversation with strangers on public transport ranks as a breach of etiquette not far below commission of High Treason.
Take the Tube through London in rush hour, for instance, and you will see dozens of strangers packed tightly together. Though they may be intimate in terms of physical proximity, each revels in splendid isolation.
Break this code of silence and you will be greeted with embarrassed silence (interrupted, perhaps, by nervous newspaper-twitching) as all around you seek to avoid your gaze.
Not all of the UK is quite so circumspect about small talk, however. Citizens in the north of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland all take pride in being more welcoming than their aloof southern neighbours.
Nonetheless, etiquette expert Simon Fanshawe strongly advises against making verbal contact with one’s fellow commuters and transgressing one of the UK’s most powerful codes of behaviour.
“My advice would be to do it with extreme caution,” he says. “If you do, expect us to be extremely gruff.

28 July, 2012 at 5:17 pm #505221ok cosy.. maybe we should advertise we are gonna duet in the Duple club.. that will get them signing up el rapido !! I was there the other week on the night they were auditioning the acts that do the clubbie circuit. By god we Could have did better unrehearsed :) Quite liked the camp impressionist/comedian but he was a dead ringer for Alan carr. which will go against him. another older dude was quite good in a neil diamond/comedian kinda way. I voted the older dude to give him a break on a Hard, ( despite the humour) circuit.
you wait.. they will be rushing in now…..
erm. :)
28 July, 2012 at 3:59 pm #505218aye.. go on then cosy. put my name down.
28 July, 2012 at 3:47 pm #505269Thought about this.. I could not randomly kill a stranger. I could however kill someone if my childrens lives were at risk. And i doubt it would even P.rick my conscience afterwards. so Yes poli,, I guess my answer would be YES.
As for that American dude, that was well bad ,as he was playing at being the baddie, but i feel he will emotionally “feel” it now. I think Deep down he thought he was in some form of shoot-em-up computer game..But it had no off switch to delete what he had done. I think it all started as a fantasy in his head.but when he never got the attention he craved, he actually did it as a ” Told ya So” scenario.
28 July, 2012 at 1:01 am #505174and folks can go where they want ? surely? This is an Old argument but, ffs .
