When i first read doa’s initial post i felt myself full of, “it happened during the tories” .. as a child ,born in 1960 i can remember the so called “good times” .. I agree with the debt thing,,once ya could NOT get debt ,and once everyone had a decent house,,then the tories sold off the housing stock,without re building ! they sold the things ,we once held dear like rail,and privatised the N.H.S !
kids became,, im better than you !! as WE have double glazing and a funky Kentucky fried door ! neighbours in small communities became ” get OFF my land” ! this is MY house,,i PAID for it so ya CANT play on the streets !
the kids sat in houses,scared to play.developed a need for computers and sega megadrives.the unions were fvcked.. so NO one to support an entire generation that needs them more than ever !
and debt is free ! take a loan says the Shylock from the Provvie ! we will only hound ya and make ya feel even more the underdog if ya CANT pay high interest !
so welcome the latvians.the poles,the bombay folks that take over industry here like N.C.R.. traditional working class manufacturing ,engineers.. ALL the jobs are gonna go to Bombay as its quarter wages ! Shadow the workers in scotland.. and soon it will ALL be ours !

getting a lecture on patience from an Indian dude :) My cable telly isnt working as the plug things are that old.and im missing eastenders ! So i called all irate,only to be met with the Dalai Lamas wee brother :)
problem solved ?? nope,,he is sending me out a new scart cable,but thats not gonna solve it ,he told me to give it a try then get back to them !

In the past we all knew people would get into debt if they had too much credit.
We had laws stopping people from going to much in the red, the banks and building societies wouldn’t lend you the money “willy nilly “ .
But all that has changed.
The only people who seem to have benefited from this is the banks.
I can’t understand why we could proved skill centres and full grants to university students in 70’s and 80 and but not now.
I can’t understand why we had massive government housing stocks in the past for people on low incomes and so few left now.
To me it seem that the Thatcher government of the 80’s not only condemn people at the time to a life of low wages and low living standards, but continuo’s to do so.
I do think people on low wages were better off before 1979 and the years that have followed have made life worst for them.
It’s a shame we don’t have a labour government

that should have been my cue to actually pick up the piles of clothes :) but i wont. and ironically the things lying around are the clothes i wear. the ones pride of place with hangers etc are size 10 1940’s /50’s dresses i will NEVER wear, Retro seditionaries tee shirts.vivienne westwood garb.. I cant bear to chuck them oot :) i look after more expensive threads but lets face it we live in a disposable society ! im organised in my personal chaos..! honest :)

ya know,,i have similar memories of the wee rusty tins ! I bought andrews in the hygenic plastic container about a year ago..and it hardly fizzed ! and it sat at the bottom of my glass like a gluteanous mass ! Burped and farted but it didnt move me !

Of late, I’ve developed a soft spot for Darnell. I reckon he’s one of BB9’s most sensitive, wistful souls. His eyesight isn’t 20/20 and his brain might be stuffed with half-formed songs about biscuits, but he doesn’t miss a trick.
Yesterday, as the court of Princess Jen surrounded her IKEA throne, beholding her innate prettiness and faultless ‘realness’, Darnell was leading a subtle yet effective mutiny. And last Thursday as Stu, Luke and Dale quacked on about ‘poor Jen’ who was ‘totally justified to be upset about her painting’, Darnell didn’t play ball at all.
Darnell’s sussed that Jen is basically a shrill mean-spirited version of Beaker from the Muppets in a bedraggled brown wig who uses tears to achieve her goals. ‘We have to look at the root cause of the arguments’ Darnell remarked recently as Jen waltzed about the house telling Stu she was sick of Dale and Dale she was sick of Stu and everyone else that she was sick of both boys for daring to think that wants a relationship, ‘cos she doesn’t, like, right!? Yawn.
Well, I think Darnell is right, Jen is the root cause of house unrest. Like last Thursday, I feel Rex’s worst crime wasn’t smudging that rubbish backwards-child E grade GCSE daubing Jen was comparing to Monet. No, Rex’s biggest crime was never fancying Jen.
Never giving Jen the respect and adoration that befits Jen. Not melting at her mascara clotted eyelashes and bony shoulder blades. Not being interested in giving poor moronic Dale and hapless Stu some competition in their dismal quest to go out with her for a bit until they leave the house and forget about her forever.
Jen, therefore, thinks Rex is arrogant and stroppy. She’s disliked him for weeks and encouraged others to do so too. She knows that even half-asleep Rex has more wit than her, Stu and Dale all put together which annoys her greatly. Thus after an entire week of Rex and his friend Mohammed being in the bad books with Team Princess, thankfully Rex finally gave Jen something good to get her teeth into.
‘It was myyyyyy painting! Ya wuddent do that in an aaaaart gallery!!’ she wailed, her vast forehead crumpled with distraught wrinkles. ‘Ya wuddent gowinto a gallery and smeeeeeeear yerfingers on stuff!’ It took around an hour of repetitive high-pitched screeching before the entire house was involved, mopping Jen’s tears and vying for Rex’s blood.
